My God! An MP has been killed in Leeds!
Shot, stabbed, killed. Probably by a very dysfunctional psychopath with a very short fuse.

It's sickening to see on social media that quite a few people (on all sides of the political spectrum) are trying to make capital out of this tragedy

Very, very sad. Does seem to be a dysfunctional psychopath. The man arrested (Tommy Mair) is documented as having severe mental health problems - http://www.batleynews.co.uk/news/loc...site-1-2976712
Apparently all that lady did was that she tried to diffuse a street-side quarrel. What a high price to pay and what a waste of a very productive and a worthy life.

This is an awful and tragic thing to have happened to anyone, but for some reason it seems worse because she was an MP.
Two children now without a Mother.
A father without a wife.
Parents have lost a daughter.
A good proportion of the local electorate have lost their chosen representative, and as JT has said it's a real blow to democracy.
Such a sad waste of life and talent.

Poor girl. We have some of the most stringent firearms laws in the world and yet this tragedy occurs. Unfortunately laws are only obeyed by the law abiding; criminals and the crazy do what the hell they like.

IMO All deaths are sad. The saddest deaths for me are of the people that are close to my life and heart. With this MP's death, the current environmental pressure and the 'kind' of death it is, makes it more extra ordinary. Firstly, it's not just a death, it's a death by killing in the most unexpected circumstances. Secondly, our political climate is quite messy at the moment. Thirdly, she was a public leader, not a Jo Blogg. Fourthly, we have been discussing that Orlando shootings recently, which was a horrific happening on a different level. Fourth point isn't comparable, but the residue of it would intensify the take for this MP's shocking killing by a random psychopath.

Is that what we know? BBC haven't mentioned that yet. I own a .22 revolver for humane dispatch and it was a very difficult and lengthy process to get authority to own one as hand guns are effectively out-right banned in the UK.
I was reading a report about the murder, it said eye witnesses reported that he shot her (or at her), shot her again, lent over her on the floor, shot her in face, kicked her several times then took out a knife and stabbed her.
What on Earth could have upset him that much to do that? And then he just walks off, calmly

he's a nutjob , on the same scale as the Orlando murderer

Can an award, say an MBE, be given posthumously which would be nice for her children when they grow up, make them extra proud of their mum? She would certainly qualify for services to charity.

She was clearly a terrific person, and certainly proof that not all politicians are on the take with their 'snouts in the trough' as some people on here would have you believe.

I'm amazed that anybody wants to be an MP, they've always been at risk to a certain extent, the pay isn't that good, considering the hours, and everybody in the media slags them off.
