Default Parental control on internet

Can anyone advise a easy to use programme for limiting internet use for kids, my oldest uses the PC for school work, but I have noticed lately her pushing the boundaries. I would prefer something that's specific to the device rather than the whole internet access in our house.

Thanks

If you get a net gear router you can limit the acces via that so anything that connects to your wifi you will be able to limit the access

If you use Windows 8.1 you can set up web access permissions specific to each user account.

Failing that, I've used this before with good results... http://www.k9webprotection.com/

sounds ideal, how do you access the router to do this?

take the ip address off the back of router and type it into the box at top off screen where it says http://scoobynet
this will take you straight to the settings for your router
select enter password on back of router select ip address of victim and enter in the times they can't use the internet and press submit
then enjoy the screams of pain as internet shuts off for them at given time

Depending on your router and service provider many now allow you to limit access to certain devices as said above. I'm pretty sure BT and Sky both have parental protection. I haven't played with the Sky settings too much, but I know it can limit access globally. When we were with BT you could limit access by device.

I use opendns.org

all systems have advantages and disadvantages

the beauty of opendns is that it requires no client side changes (software etc)

works on any device that uses my internet connection (useful for friends of my children who you obviously don't have control of the device)

and is free

I use Kaspersky Total Security 2016. Not only probably the best internet security software currently available it includes great parental features.
With the total security package it also included Kaspersky Kids, which is great for monitoring what your kids get up to on mobile/tablet devices.

If your a barclays customer you can get it for £6.99. Otherwise you can get it for around £13 on ebay
