yes it seems churlish not to like Chris Harris (I have see a couple of youtube videos he has made)
he seems knowledge but just a little to "earnest" for me
Sabine - yeah mistake imo - just because she can lap the "ring"
I think they could have got a better female candidate to tick the "diversity" box
Chris Evans - Admit to not standing the bloke in the 80's/90's - but as my son points out that is prob because he is better looking (he's not) has more talent (agreed) and richer than me - he deffo is
I actually really quite like him now though - he comes over as a genuinely decent bloke

I'm surprised they didn't make Susie Wolff an offer to present on the show - did read something about her being a female stig on the show. Would be a better lineup to swap Sabine into that role. My wide thought Davina McCall or Jody Kidd may have had a role somewhere in the show.

Great choice with Chris Harris IMO. I didn't know who he was until I saw his review on the Clio 200 EDC. All the other reviewers instantly rubbished it because it had flappy paddles and a turbo (not in keeping with the hot Renault theme of years gone past). He saw past the traditionalist bull**** and actually realised just how capable a car it was, which instantly made me like him.

Jodie Kidd would have been disastrous - I would not be able to watch her on TV. It would have been like Zoolander presenting the News at 10. Guy Martin would have been a top choice.

As for the people saying Guy Martin would be idea for it, noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!! Guy is ideal for the kind of programs he already does, Top Gear really isn't his style at all.

Tiff seems to have spent the last 30 years showing us all how good he is at doing continuos donuts
Bags of smoke and opposite lock - topped off by an inane grin
Great, by why on TV and not down the local Maccy D's car park

Chris Harris should be good unless your A Ferrari or Lamborghini fan. Sabine can drive but it's the voice that gets on my nerves.
I was expecting Jason Plato to be one as he seemed to be on all the other Chris Evans shows which would have good but instead it's David Coultard . Again great driver but his voice gets boring after a couple of minutes.
Either way it will be interesting.

He was filming with Evans so he must be involved in some capacity?

Chris Harris is good, but personally I think Steve Sutcliffe would have been a better choice, well he comes across a little better in reviews. I also think that they shouldn't have necessarily got motoring hacks and racing drivers to host the show, just good presenters; you can teach people to drive but that's no substitute to personality on a TV show. Someone like Jason Bradbury from the Gadget Show or Jonathan Ross or Rachael Riley. But then I guess it'll depend on the format of the show and will they move away from the "laddish" aspect of the show? Clarkson, May and Hammond (the last two being pretty much unknowns before TopGear) had a great chemistry between them that made entertaining and humorous viewing. There will inevitably be comparisons with the previous presenters, Sabine, on her own might seem "wrong" on the show, but together with Evans and Harris may prove to be entertaining not to just petrolheads. Cast aside what went before, if you can!

Lets see if others will do the same, there are plenty here who slated the original as just the same **** again from three old adolescent duffers.

I never slated it and always appreciated it for it was which was an entertainment show about cars which is why I want to continue watching them on Amazon. If I wanted to watch utterly boring car shows i'd watch fifth gear and this new line up sounds exactly like a new fifth gear. I'm surprised they didn't bring Chris Goffey back

I thought she was contracted to do the German version of top gear?
Whatever, I won't be watching the new version.
Harris: boring.
Evans: geek, idiot, annoying, cringeworthy...you name it.
Sabine: German....bad form, Beeb, bad form, when there's UK born presenters, probably needing jobs.
At least that sweaty with the long hair that seems to be in, or voicing over, every other programme isn't on it

In my opinion old top gear was well past its sell by date, so the changes may be a positive thing.
Don't really know much about Chris Harris (thought he was a speedway rider) but saw him on 5th gear recently in a Ferrari vs 911 feature, first impressions were he didn't seem that bad.
In truth there is so little on tv for car fans l am glad that top gear is continuing
