Exclamation Combi Boiler leaking from flow switch!

Hi guys,

My Combi boiler is leaking from the flow switch and has been for a few weeks when turned on.

Does anyone know how this can be sorted? Does it need a new item fitted?

Regards,

Subaru Collector 555.

Might only need one of the compression nuts nipping up a little tighter, or undoing and sealing up better with a bit of extra jointing compound or ptfe tape.

All usual precautions obviously apply, and if in doubt get it seen to by a pro

May be a blockage, this can happen with time.

Ok so the boiler's fixed now. We had a plumber round who had to come round three times due to not checking if there was any more leaks after fixing it. Nothing was replaced, only the system was drained and some sealant was applied where the nuts are. He's asking for £70 is that a fair price?

The guy's a bit of a numpty for not checking for further leaks on the last 2 visits, but honestly, how much less do you think his time and effort could be worth?

Im not too sure tbh, I just thought it was a tad much considering what was done and the hiccups involved.

So, he's just tightened the nuts up.

Its a bit like you having a leak on the bottom hose on the cars radiator. I turn up and turn the jubilee clip screw and extra turn and charge you £70

Except in the OP's case you've turned up, tightened 3 different jubilee clips on various hoses around the engine, and flushed the coolant. Not quite the same thing.

£70 is cheap, unless he hasn't fixed the leak
