We keep getting a number ring the house and everytime you answer it or ring the number back it is a fax or modem.

It rings about once a day and is starting to get really annoying.

I will when I get time ring BT, and try sending a fax to the number saying "get lost etc" but any other ideas people..

could be a vending machine.
At an office I worked at I would get a call at the same time twice a-day. It turned out to be a coke machine saying that it needed to be filled up, but the engineer had entered the wrong number in the machine so it rung me instead of the drinks company.
I rang BT and they did a trace on the number and contacted the company in question. Once I had called BT it was resolved in a couple of hours.

Yep, same here, ring BT asap and it will be dealt with.......well mine was as hubby is a manager.

Seriously though, do ring them, they will try and sort it.
