Cool NEW 2008 MODEL 3 DOOR HATCHBACK unveiling mid MARCH

Well "The cats out the bag" the new 2008 model is not far away now and will be unvieled Mid March

And yes the new shape Impreza is definately a small hatchback.
Had heard a rumour that the Dual fuel B5-TPH model was arriving at Prodrive last January but looks like they have not long had it. I bet the Prodrive version will look 10 times better than the sickly green Pax Mower version shown in Last years Scoobymag

Perhaps take the bits off the P2 and pop them on the B5-TPH shell I just wonder if the P2 was the developing tool for new model

Hopefully be 3 choices B5-TPH, B5-WRX and B5-STi but STi won't be out till 2008 most peeps reckon it will be called an Impreza but I don't reckon it will be

Hearing so many mixed reports on this new model, most recently that, that B5 is purely a concept and nothing to do with the new model, however interesting Prodrive might have one. Sounding more likely.

The B5 is Subaru's internal model code I believe with the actual model being called a B5 TBH, only pictures I seen are in Scoobymag as Tony said.

PMSL

Yep thats the one Subaru Hatch B5-TPH but once Prodrive remove the Tacky "Pax Mower" colour scheme is gone and more of a "Sporty" rather than "Gay" look and more importantly a choice of powerful gas guzzler engine or Tree hugger. This ugly duckling will look brilliant well much much better

Sorry but both are the same base Car One is a Photochopped guess using a blend of the B5-TPH shape and a MY06Sti. The other is actual picture of the first road going concept version of a B5-TPH.

I don't think any of them will be named "Impreza" but will be in TPH, WRX & Sti versions.

I agree totally. If thats the new face of the up and comming impreza or TPH or whatever it is going to be called, then Subaru can as 'juggers' said they can F'off!!!

I can see that the current model 06 Impreza, will i am sure be the last proper impreza that the public/scooby mad enthusiasts will want to buy and not bother with that new thing.

Why do Subaru have to change the car completely to a more hatch style like what Mitisubishi are doing with there EVo X?

These words come to mine, 'If it ain't boke don't fix it' which is what Subaru have done up untill now keeping the same, if not updated body design since the first Impreza rolled out of the production line. Why change now.

The Subaru Impreza IS and SHOULD be a four door saloon / 5ive door sportwagon and NOTHING else !!

I think that is the problem, the Impreza is broke - its no secret that Subaru are finding it difficult to shift the lastest cars. Subaru have changed the car virtually every year over the last 5-6 years, with either styling tweaks or as in the latest versions the 2.5 engines, but nothing has help to boost sales.

The market has moved on, and the Impreza is no longer able to survive as an unknown "enthusiasts car" (I bought my first back in 1998 - hardly anyone I knew had heard of it) - its now not good enough to distance itself from the new modern hot hatches that are appearing, and not good enough to act as a mainstream saloon that would tempt drivers out of their performance diesel VAG/Ford/Vauxhall.

Subaru need to draw a line after the current car and come up with something radical, in the same way Ford did with the Escort/Focus, Cortina/Sierra/Mondeo. Move the game on rather than continually tweak the original.

I've covered over 250,000 miles in 4 Scoobies in 8 years - I'm 99% certain my current Scoob will be my last. I've loved every one of those miles but there are now better packaged cars available to do the same job.

Gareth

The daft thing is that where (IMHO) Subaru have failed to create a decent-looking hatch, Mitsubishi have.
The new Evo is a nice looking car

And I'm not a big fan of Evos either

I too did semi-big mileage in my Scoobs - only when I didn't like the new bunch did I change to Audi.....

I never said the "B5" Model was the new "IMPREZA" it's a new Subaru Hatckback "rolleyes" but looks it will more than likely be the WRC Prodrive Car.

Subaru will need make a decission of the fate of the Impreza. The Impreza will stiil be around for at least 12-18 months after the release of the B5-TPH, B5-WRX and B5-STi.

1) Do Subaru want 2 saloon cars in their Portfollio Impreza and Legacy
2) Can they afford heavy investment in Two new models in 3 years.
3) One more Facelift and something will have to go

IMHO

y not produce a stylish coupe a la 350Z or Celica to choose 2 basic cheap productionised shapes - then add an STi version of the Cossie 2.5 boxer or start playing with the 6 boxer with twin turbos + Audi style twin clutch tranny to save 2 secs on a 0-100 time.

Keep weight down to 1000 kg + 400lb ft and 'timelossless' tranny coupled to clever 4wd + genuine Euro syled coupe shell - they couldnt go wrong - how difficult is this to work out???!!! -= Say £26k?

Silver Celica styling & size with decent wheels + above giving genuine single figure 0-100 times and understeer free driftability + 25 mpg on 99 RON Bio --- anyone?

Nah they'd be able to sell that

Seems I must be the only one on here that can see the potential of the "Dog Poo" Pictured above

As most peeps say this is just the road going Concept Car

After a few Cosmetic changes like wheels, bumpers, rear lights, shed the Mox Powder interior and a decent colour. I'm certain it will sell

As for the Photochopped express version LOL High spoilers on Hatcbacks are sooooooooo yesterday and Cr4p IMHO i reckon it will more like the 2 subltle ones like on the 2006 rear window one.

One of the best things about the Impreza for me is the fact it has 4 doors, so I'm out if this hideous thing is released!
