Many thanks to Martin and Chris, I'm sat here with 95% of me still in the "forest"....superb route, excellent organisation and not bad company too, apart from sweetie pete ! ( only joking dear ).
Good to put many more names to erm....erm...faces A fantastic campsite set in equal surroundings with a bar to boot ! oh, and a few rough ladies
Hope you all arrived home safely, glad to see we had no mishaps along the way, although if you check petes underpants I wouldn't be to sure
Really only leaves me to say a final appreciation for what will have been a task and a half in organising this event and full marks for everyone that made it worthwhile....( now you can put your hankies away ). Till next time.

Thanks for the complements Chris, but don't forget that it is the varied bunch of folks (alcoholics, nutters, Scouse-winder-uppers, satellite spotters etc.) that really made the weekend a success.

Thankyou all for coming along and making a (very long) strip of tarmac and a field something to remember!

p.s. Kev, the Bangor Little Chef just phoned, and your toast is ready

I'm still buzzing, even after a steady drive home

Glad you liked it, its those that make the effort to come that make the event.

We can take no thanks for the cracking weather and the lack of traffic

(Paul & Jase, not too long till the next one )

Now I've got to go back to driving the Focus around London for another week

Till next time (September - ish)

Chris

Cool

I'm going to wake up soon because it feels like the last 48Hrs was a dream!!!

Don't know how many times I've said AWESOME today, but it's the only word i can think of that sums it all up.

It has all been just perfect. I've just spent the last hour boring people with stories from the weekend. Will they ever understand!!!

Just cannot get over those roads which were incidentally AWESOME My STI performed like a trooper all weekend although she had quite an appetite for waterspray. I have learned so much about the car and am even more in awe than before with regard to it's handling and pace! I LOVE MY CAR!!!

Just a BIG thank you to Martin, Chris, Paul and Kev (great drive Sat. mate ) for getting this event together and to everyone else for making it a real hoot.
Special BIG-UP to Ian Gratton & his Bro Simon in the GT4 for the drive today .... SPECIAL!!! We found Utopia or could that be Valhalla.

Oh yeah, nearly forgot, if you read this Mr Hardman, the grip from the Toyo's was ....... wait for it ................. AWESOME!!!! They don't look too bad either

Once again guys, CHEERS!

Boomer/charliewhisky,

Ive been back home for a while now, but just packed the tent away (properly ), and also had time to fall asleep in front of the telly (I'm sure i was dreaming of a certain denbigh forest )

Many thanks again for organising the weekend and producing some excellent directions (i can't remember getting lost once)

Great people, great cars, great beer and bad food (super-hot-mega-spicy pizza, never again )

Can't wait to return, hopefully when the suspension is rebuilt, the Bumpsteer mod has been done and the Link is installed

*drool*

Phil.

Just as a preview to boomer photos (can't wait for them )

Wow folks what a weekend that was I don't think we could have wished for a better weekend .... roads were blindingly great fun both leg 1 and todays run through that wonderful section where I'm sure they stole the roads for a playstation game .. out on my own with empty roads it was sheer bliss

Great to meet you all again, same usual bunch and a few new converts ..... big thanks to Boomer and CW for getting out there and sorting a blinder of route and to Paul W for getting the plan off the ground ( but couldn't make it .... sad mate )

Mellow me old mate - not sure what you and Pete got upto last night but he slept most of the way home

Great stuff ... can't wait till next time ...

****, I am lost for words.

Its been just an awesome weekend.

We got off to a pretty bad start with my brothers GT4 requiring urgent new brakepads. We got to the Motorfactors at 8:30 in the morning and managed to get a set of pads on by 9:00 (the car had been preped on the ramp in the garage the night before). 5 miles out of derby (on route) I got a phone call from my brother shouting that he had 'no fecking gears in the gearbox m8 !!!' so...the homemade quickshift had snapped off in his hands [nice welding si ]. Back into derby to the garage for a re-weld.

So we are now running approx 2 and 1/2 hours behind (should have been at whitchurch or wherever for 10:00 am). Mr Whiskey and the boys left a route at the little chef for when we eventually made it. We arrived at the little chef and they handed us the route...it was time to play catch up. We managed to catch you up by about 3:00(ish) LOL....partly down to me leaving my mobile phone in a layby (what a dumbass).

The roads have been just cracking...the overtaking and general driving Etiquette has been fantastic...very well done folks for making this a safe trip.

The grand tourismo road....having driven this road I got to the end thinking....wow....was that a fanastic road...maybe its just me. At the stop Chris (Akira) and my bro were just stoked to have driven the road....we stopped for a good 10-15 minutes just talking about it.

So now we are all home...and most importantly home safely....well done guys.

Again....I can't thank CharlieWhiskey, Boomer, Kev and Paul enough for talking the time to organise this event....such I huge amount of precise planning has taken place....and you've made a group of car nuts very very happy.

Ian.
(still high as a kite from the driving).

PS: Just popped over to see jase....he is gutted he didn't come now

PPS: Mr Walker....you were missed m8ty !!! don't worry...you'll be along next time

So...wheres the rest of the piccies....

Hi

Good to meet you all..........

We had a great time, and a knackering slog back to Kent... .. Had to stop in the services on the M6 to stock up on Choc. and Lucozade to stay awake...

Great route, a lot of work must have gone into that.......!!!

Boomer, I looked at the map of the Saturday route and it's a shame we couldn't have made it. Still we drove some of the roads on the way up... and the mushroom is still intact ....

Ian, I wonder if all Little Thiefs do the same offer? Buy One breakfast + Get one free....?

The EBC Reds did perform quite well after all, well they didn't have much choice in the matter...

Cheers Martin, Chris, Paul and Kev
That was some work you put into those routes. Got a bit worried when plod followed us near the start today (even more when I saw the marked fire blades or whatever they were, Don't think I could outrun them). The roads on both days were awesome but you could really push it through the forest today. The video night sounds a good idea. I've only got about 20 mins of footage because Gem found it dificult to film, read a route map, hold on, scream at me and keep her eyes open. She said she will never get in a car with me again after the forest section, so we will be in her 106 Quick Silver next time.

Thanks again to everyone, and look forward to seeing you all at the next meet.

PS Gem wants a key to the ladies shower next time.

Boomer, Charlie Whiskey, Walker & Kev,

Thanks for all the time & effort you invested in organizing a fantastic weekend, the route was awesome , and i can see why you had to reccie it so many times .
The only problem was i must have taken a wrong turning from the pub as i went home via Ruthin & Betws-y-coed .

My commiserations go out to all of you for having to endure such an awful weekend. You know if I could have squeezed you all in to my office for the two days to work with me I would have done so, but you were with me in spirit.

So keep your chins up, and maybe next time eh?

Do I take it that was a sucess then?

The next one will be different, but similar!

Thanks Ged, for spotting we knicked some of your excellent route! but it just HAD to be done (take Ian & Akira's comments to heart, they went back for more!)

The next one WILL be the back end of September & we will reserve a slot in the BIG SCOOBY DIARY!

Hope to get the food sorted a little better next time (no pizza deliveries - Doh!)

May make it an 'official' SIDC event, anyone fancy helping with a True Grip article????

CW no problem m8 .Like you say those roads just have to go into any route out that way,as they are the best .
It was very handy actually as I didn't have a co-driver,but as I already knew where I was going I could concentrate on my driving.

P.S. Don't tell everyone where they are it'll be our little secret. .

Thanks again for a cracking day out.
