Default middlesex nooby.

hi guys, just wanted to introduce myself as a new owner/member in the middlesex area. picked my scoob up 3 weeks ago and i'm very happ with it!

its a 51 plate bugeye wrx - its got a few goodies on it but the guy i bought it off was a bit clueless about what he was selling so i managed to get it for a VERY reasonable price.

if anyone knows/sees and aftermarket bits on it i'd be grateful if you can let me know what they are.

i'd like to get involved here as much as possible - i'm an active member on piston heads and ftooc.org (ive got an FTO GPvR as well)

here she is:

the bits it has got that i know about are:

sti8 rear spoiler
its been de-tangoed
fullt straight through toyosport exhaust
equal length HKS headers
its been mapped - had it dyno's last week @ 263bhp

thats it i think. its got a dump valve but i'll loose that when the FMIC goes on next month.

not sure what else to do with it at the moment.

On WRX don't go for FMIC unless you want go for bigger turbo in near future, its not worth on bare WRX,no gains. And you will need also get car mapped for FMIC and extra money,i would recommend contact here Rich@FB Tuning or Neil@Slowboy Racing for best advice and both guys you are located near to you.

As Jura said, it all depends upon what you want - if your looking for more power add a VF34 or VF35 and some pink injectors to go with you FMIC, walbro fuel pump - should see you 330-340bhp with a good map. Then to cope with the extra go consider some uprated springs and a good wheel alignment (and also some shock if they are the original 10-year old factory items) plus at least some decent pads and discs.

Before all that, get the basics right, good service and cambelt if the history is not all there.

TBH, it all comes down to how deep your pockets are. FB Tuning is a good place to start to get your work done.

thanks for the welcome guys.

the fmic is part of the next step -

fmic
warlboro 255 fuel pump
boost controller
another remap

then - i'm not sure.

i'm working on the car with the guys down at Eurospec in surrey. they look after my other car and ive been going there for years. they've got an rb5 with 925 hp and are exellend mappers. are they known on here?

Really you are don't need Boost controller its waste of money, its good but at point if you are going for higher boost than can control ECU,your ECU can control easy 1.5-1.7 bar.

Walbro is good addition, with these mods you will have around 270-280bhp.
TD04 turbo which you have fitted will not make more power than 270-280bhp at best.

Rather invest to second hand VF35(£250) and STi pink(£100-£160) and you have 330-340bhp and after this get your car mapped.

Good luck matey.

had it derviced inc plugs the day after i picked it up, got them to go over it to make sure i hadnt bought a lemon. the only thing they could pick up on was that the sump had surface rust. its now been rubbed back and protected.

brakes are a major need! the standard wrx ones are awful.

I might have some dBA wiper slot discs up for sale soon, depends upon whether or not I can afford a brembo upgrade - I get the car back from the bodyshop in August so some time after that depending upon how desperate you are

Those pinks are quite pricey, you'll seem them come up on here in the sub £150 bracket regularly
