Track day wheels etc
Just bought some old WRX wheels for use on 1st track day
what tyres do you guys use eg new (which ones), old, bald etc. Do you put them on & drive to the track or drive there & then put them on.
Cheers, TX.

Better to drive up there on your road wheels/tyres & keep trackday wheels/tyres in boot & back seat. When you get there just swop over wheels & then back again before you leave the track to come home.
Iv got some worn RE070 trackday tyres in 235/45/17 for sale in Private For Sale section if you want. These are very good tyre type & size tyres to use especially for newages due to their stiffer/wider sidewalls & are available in Japan only in this size. Cheap as chips & will easily see one or maybe even two trackdays.
Or if you want to go all out you can get some new Toyo R888's or Yoko or Hankook trackday specefic tyres.

You were sliding all over the place last time you took me out on 888's
Then again it was tipping it down big time at Brands...rivers in places where you were sliding but good fun
I will probably go 888's when I wear down the RE070's
That might take a while as I drive like miss daisy

You need to baffle the sump, to keep oil at the pickup tube, even when cornering hard.
