Hi all
Hi all, Im nu to the Scooby scene so am wonderin if i how join ur wonderful club??? I live in Enfield so am just puttin the feelers out bout clubs etc. I do have a couple questions tho and hoped sum1 culd give me a lil advice on where to go, wot to do???
Firstly can any1 suggest a place (in Enfield or nearby etc) that can do a full wheel alignment due to the place i went to frankly didn't kno their **** from their elbow!!!!! I went there cos i had a prang b4 Christmas and wanted to kno wot was bend/ needed replacing. I told them wot had happened, told them i was trade thinkin they'd spare me the usual BS they fob their normal punters with, unfortunally they didn't and told me that it culd b adjusted. They adjusted it, charge me £60 for the privilege and sent me on my way, i went back 5 mins later cos they'd ballsed it up and had to "re-adjust it". Iv now replaced the broken part (the NSR hub assembly) and now to get it adjusted again. Can anyone help?????
Secondly it needs to Cam Belt changin, it's done just over 50,000 miles. I wondered if can just change the belt or whether i need to change anythin else, obv if anythin needs doin ie waterpump, guilds/ roller il change them. My local parts supplier said they've only ever sold the timing belt. Also how hard is it to change, iv read in the Auto Data book that i need a couple of special tools, do I??
Any help great appreciated.

Rich welcome mate, although i see plenty of scoobs around enfield, dont really see many of their owners here on SN
What model are you driving and i'll keep an eye out for you, i'm in a white Hawkeye Spec C so give us a wave next time you see me.
As for getting the geometry done, i've always taken the car to Elite in romford as they have guys who know how to use the equipment there.
Although your better off asking them to adjust the car to your own settings, rather then there "prodrive" settings!! lol
As for the cambelt, theres a new subaru dealership that has opened up in Woodford if you want the main stealer experience, but as Mags said you wont go far wrong with getting Fiestaboy (Rich) to take a look what ever issue you may have.
Then there is Hughberrys in Rickmansworth who are pretty good too.

He doesn't mean the one on the car- he means he's had his belt loosened to accomodate his "ample waist".
Welcome Milky bar kid- hope you enjoy scooby ownership, be prepared for your wallet to gradually empty over the coming months when the "few improvements" turn into heavy modding! All the best mate.

Hey all, thanks for the warm welcomes im new to whole club experince as have never really woned a proper car worth join a clubs for ,previous cars were mostly Astra 1.6s (not that im complainin i really enjoyed ownin them) but eventually heart won head and i bought my Scooby.
As to answer your question Mel i drive a Black '04 plate UK spec hatchback (standard at the mo) with a "Black Rat" sticker on the OSR quarter window and dog guard in the back, hey make as well give the dog some enjoyment too. lol Il keep an eye out for you and will def give a wave. ;-)
As for the wheel alignment i def it done ASAP due to my folks needin the use of car in the next couple weeks so don't wana give them an unfit car to use, il def check out those places you've suggested.
The cambelt is the othe thing i wana get done too (4 the same reason as above) but iv mechanical experience and iv spoken a few ppl who have done them and they've said it's fairly strait forward to once i get my head round it, so i may tackle it inthe next couple days. Just need reassurenance i think.
Im sure im meet u all one day face to face at a clu b meet.
Cheers again Rich

Hey all, kwik update on the situation so far, got the belt done...... well did the belt........ Yes folks i faced the challenged and did the job myself, needed it doin pronto and culdn't wait ages to get it booked in sumwhere due my car goin on Holiday to Devon this week, least it'l get a gud long drive while it down there.
Iv mechanical experience so asked few ppl i kno in the trade who have done the job to get advice. Took me bout 4hrs all told ended up lookin like i "Self Harm" with arms scratched to ribbons, Rite hand bank (if ur lookin at the engine face on) needs the cams clampin together to stop them from movin but appart from that it's do able, Oh and i didn't have to special tool to hold the crank pulley while undoin the the bolt or doin it back up, bit nervy but it's changed and it runs perfectly. Altho i won't b doin another 1 4 a bit!!!
Just need the alignment done and change the rear tyres when iv got the car back from my folks. ;-)
