Default 06 Impreza STI Spec D

Picked this up last week. Its an 06 with 70k on it, plenty of detailed service history to help calm my 2.5 nerves including cosworth headgaskets done at 55k

only got the 1 pic so far as no tax until start of feb

http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y18...pse4228f5c.jpg

And its Feb 06 so cheaper tax bracket

yeah they are stupidly cheap cars! i was actually looking at mk4 R32's (to replace my current classic) as wanted something a bit more comfortable for the daily driver but this turned up basically 5mins round the corner from me & in a dealers forecourt, and was as cheap as buying a mk4 r32 privately

its the fact its more inconspicuous & discreet is what appealed to me.

I think they look really cool. That slightly understated look gives off a lot presence IMO

Looks very tidy mate

I've managed to get hold of a spare PSI3, so when it warms up a touch I'll be able to get in the garage and and have a play with a VFD display:

Let me know if you find a UK supplier of the S204 spoiler or replica, as I'm after one too.
I don't fancy buying one from Japan etc cos I don't want to run the risk of the dreaded import duty

Kakumei in the US does copies in GRP or carbon, they sort out the import duty for you

For 300 id be scared of it being damaged in transit plus being stung on customs even if they do attempt to sort it for me as gift etc

i got stung last week £15 on charges for a blooming £17 item from US ebay!!

And then a few years back i bought cams n stuff from autotech in us, again stung!

@JonMc - on a different note, i found someone who fixed by psi3 lcd display but then soldered the boards to close together that when i refitted to housing caused metal tabs to short the board give it back to him to sort lol. In meantime got another DIN lcd unit fitted to spec d which works and will be left that way!

Shelved the s204 spoiler idea as needed to drill new holes in bootlid

So experimented with a lip spoiler on the std wrx spoiler. Quite like it as it breaks up the rear nicely and tie in with front splitter and wheels

And some diy spherical droplinks

To be honest I'm still after an S204 spoiler or Kakumei copy but from a UK sale to avoid the risk of the import duty.

So to see can i counteract the 2.5 oil usuage issue

Air oil separator arrived plumbed in. Nice job.
Aos unit replaces std oil cap.
Head breathers and centre breather redirected to bottom inlet on aos
Pcv blocked off
Inlet redirected to top inlet on aos
So effectivly still a closed loop system but oil returns to sump rather than into inlet

STI titanium brace I picked up a while ago also

S2 industries air oil separator

Got prodrive backbox of scooby stu so will get that on tomorro hangover dependent

Prodrive backbox fitted, tidier looking and quieter than existing - but still nice enough note as it has s/s non-resonated centre section

Yeah, does look good. How's the ride now? Do you have a link to those springs online somewhere? The ones on Scoobyworld say not approved for STi :-(

yeah just do a google on the Part number PREBFE1001 - you can find them on www.pro-r.co.uk

ride is great now, i did have the original front sti struts fitted with springs and found the struts a bit too stiff for them on uk roads, but fitting the rb320 struts solved this problem

so before xmas i said i was done modifying the car, i was happy with its looks

http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y18...psrf7kszdc.jpg

but like most people into their cars....i cant leave it alone....over xmas i started browsing for a new rear spoiler. ideally an s203 or s204 spoiler but was never gonna get them at sensible money, and was never going to put the big STI wing on it

so i turned my attention to the Prodrive UK300 spoiler...which looks like this..but wasn't too fussed on it
http://www.iwoc.co.uk/images/uk300/uk300wing1.jpg

then i seen this picture on google and thought hmmmm that might work on mine but still don't like the pointy bits
http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z...50_26711_o.jpg

picked up one cheap, got the points taken off it, and got it painted - will fit it tomorrow but ive a feeling it work quite well on the car. got new prodrive side decals to come also for it. Plus point is it uses the same mounting holes as my existing spoiler so if i dont like it can remove it handy enough again

crap phone pics

So here is the "de-pointed" UK300 spoiler fitted!

its on and i think it has worked. Just need the Prodrive badges for side of the spoiler to finish it off
