Talking Want to see something gross with my Scooby !?

This made me stop for a moment when I opened the door and saw this!!...

The car has been kept unused over the winter months with a cover over it, I got it out today as the sun was out to do a couple small jobs.

Mmmmmm mouldy!

It made me think though, is this bacteria that has grown from particles of food or drink as its only on the things that I touch, eg, the steering wheel, handbrake handle and some patches on the seats. Or is it the leather material itself?

Anyway, its all cleaned off now and anti-bacterial'd, thought it was worth a couple pics to share

This winter I think I might find some kind of dehumidifying gadget to try and prevent this again.

I`ve never understood anyone garaging a car over the winter. Waste of a car in my opinion...unless of course it`s worth thousands

If everyone thought like that, there'd be no cars in existence over about 15 years old.

I'm assuming the OPs car was outside with the cover over it. Mine has been stored inside 6 months every year since 2003. Never any mould what so ever.

I'm more concerned about the marks on the seat. Is that something to do with the cheese like mould over the steering wheel and handbrake ??

if you have a wife then most of their cars look like that on a normal day, just a few more hair brushes , mcdonald wrappers and assorted crap

Damp when put away.
I always leave the windows 1/2 inch open under the cover when I store my old lotus, and it's garaged.
It did this once (but not that bad) when I forgot to leave the windows ajar.
I also like to make sure the brakes are nice and hot and dry before it goes away, stops disc corrosion under the pads.

I garage my cars because I tend to alternate which one I use and I always leave the drivers window fully open on whichever one is in the garage and I've never has this.

Is your garage damp? Even my Capri that has been stored for 5+ years isn't like that!

Ive got a peice of crap run around car, the scooby is my 'weekend out having a blast car', I dont tend to in the winter as its not really go out and have fun driving, its normally pissing with rain and everyone drives slow cos of a little water on the road.

Yep, its outside, at least the cover helps against the elements when its covered in snow and ice.

Couldnt agree more, inside my misses car looks like a dustbin!

The stains on the seat are a bit suspicious lol!

All I can assume is this has happened when Im driving with one hand whilst holding food and its cross contamination.

It was proper fluffy too when wiping it off lol, I had a green hairy steering wheel!

Eewww!

Apart from food and stuff from your hands, do you have sweaty palms mate?

I know that can definitely contribute to a mouldy steering wheel when the wheel/interior is not properly cleaned before storage.
