Default Help required!!!!!!! miss fire/ limp mode

Hi, hope someone can help. Purchased a classic uk Turbo 2000 on April 1st ( jokes on me) on the test drive the car miss fired when it got to about 5k revs when gunned. The guy said it had never happend before. It was low on fuel so I took it thinking it was something silly.

I filled the tank with no change.

I looked on forums and read to clean the MAF sensor which I done.....no change. Then I changed the Knock sensor.... still no change

There are no codes coming up as I've checked this also?

Anyone any idea or can anyone recomend a garage that won't take the P in the North Lanarkshire area?

The car is supposed to be mapped by TSL it has a Hayward and Scott exaust and a green air filter. thats about it.

Receipts for Exhaust dating back to 2007.

Thanks in advance for replies

It does run fine when driving normally. I think the remap was done a few years ago?

That's what it feels like. I can't put my foot to the floor without it kangarooing!

I'll try the spark plugs before I go out spending all sorts.

Misfire, check HT leads, sprak plugs and coil pack(s). And if you can, swap them for known working replacements. I had a misfire after getting a remap, ended up being either the leads of coilpack (but both looked and acted fine prior to remap - the extra grunt achieved on said remap would have made a dormant problem worse).

Oh and ask this in the correct section fella - this is members gallery LOL!

Plugs or leads sounds favourite & is the first thing to look at. Are you sure it's not fuel cut caused by overboost perhaps down to not being mapped for mods.

It did feel like fuel cut off. The guy that sold it told me all the work was done before he got it. It was brought to Scotland from cardiff a couple of years back with the mods on and the remap?

I'm guessing that exhaust is a decat & the car is not mapped for it. You'd be advised to keep it off boost & contact a reputable mapper off here for further advice before your engine destroys itself. I'm not sure whose close to you, you may have to travel, try Andy Forrest. However a split or loose vac pipe may cause overboost leading to fuel cut. Good luck.

There is a sports cat on it and the exhaust has been on it since 2007? I will need to take it to someone but who in my area or Glasgow area? That's the question

I'll check the vac pipes later also!
