Thanks for the comments
Yup, quite stoked about the car. Been looking out for one for the last couple of years. Collected it from Martin (sn inmate nedster) in Brighton Thursday. He's really looked after the car well, not really a mark on it. 51K miles and drives like a dream. Super 6 speed 'box, and the variable valve timing makes a nice growling bark on full chat.
Some tasteful mods: Walbro, Afterburner rear box, wrapped up-pipe, JGM map (est 315 bhp) and a rear adj arb.
Had a 4 wheel alignment done yesterday to see where everything was. The amount of negative camber dialled in seemed a bit much, but decided to leave it. Tweaked the toe-in's a little more, and that was all good (you get so much more castor with the new age )
Took her out on a 100 miler shakedown yesterday afternoon. The chassis is just sublime. Fluid, confident and just comes more alive the more it's worked. I don't need to wax about Scooby chassis on here, but it's been a while since I've driven a new age and it's good to compare. The geo seemed to work well when pushing on. The brakes are a bit stretched and I had them smoking a couple of times, so Brembo's might well be in the offing. Otherwise well happy with everything
Here's a few pics I took this morning

Update:
I hadn't really settled into this car too well, for a few reasons. Mainly the way the engine ran, performed and delivered.
It was flat as newbile's T till 4K, and then the only real way to get it going was full boot when all hell broke lose. There was not a linear, smooth delivery.
Other thing was applying throttle from tickover, say pulling out, there was quite a delay in revs increasing which was quite frustrating.
Flat spots through the rev range, along with dips and seges made for a pretty course delivery and driving experience.
Bring in Graham Martin aka Enginemapper
I decided to remove the final CAT in the downpipe to give some earlier spool before getting the re-map.
So, off I went to Silverstone Autosport, Cheshire...
My remit to Graham was earlier pick-up, smooth out boost introduction rather than all or nothing, and smooth out delivery removing flat spots
Oh, you don't just want more then he said
It's make or brake for this car I told Graham...
The result - pretty much exactly what I was after
Nice One Graham

Car had a remap some time ago...
I'm somewhat surprised at the difference the re-map's made, and tbh I think Graham was too - really seems to have loosened the car up

The graph before and after are with the old map but with a decat down-pipe which exaggerated the inconsistent delivery. I think it was running more like 300bhp prior to this mapping session, but instead of doing a before run then de-catting, I just did a before and after on the decat.
However I did lower the boost somewhat and smooth the AVCS and boost delivery to pick up some spool and iron out compressor surge and boost waver. But to be honest, it wasn't at all bad before and I was a little hesitant to say I could make it a whole lot better!
The graph doesn't tell the full story either, as I'm a 'less is more' person, so tend to run the turbo as optimum as possible without really stretching it and use other means to extract the performance. Which as it happened on this car, resulted in a much more responsive drive.
I did Nigel's Type R last summer on a Simtek and I relish a challenge to try and better a cars progression and really map to suite an overall package rather than just power.
Overall I was very happy with the result for Nigel and I'm glad I saved the car from getting the chop!
