Thumbs up at last I have a smaller front number plate :)

its only taken me 20years of having this registration that I've now got a plate that fits the digits properly

while at MFN I had one made up.. legal letter font, size, spacing and edge gap. £10, all to British standard too.

the one that came on the scoob when I pick it up in Jan this year seemed huge!!

then as I was on a roll... I've had a show plate done ready fo all the 'car shows' I go too

ill be fitting fmic soon and want to keep the number plate on front bumper in front of the intercooler but a smaller plate would be ideal, where can i get one?

Most places I`ve been to will only do the generic late sizes, and they look gash!!

That plate looks a LOT better.

Hiya mate, that looks great, ive done quite a few plates for guys on here myself, however you know that that plate isnt technically legal ?

No company name & postcode in the bottom, im sure you'll get away with it though, if pulled tell them it was made 3 yrs ago (2008) priot to the law change, and you just put the plates on this car from your other motor.

Legal characters are 79mm x 50mm with 11mm gaps between each character and a 33mm space between the groups.

So for example, a standard legal 7 Digit plate is usually 520mm x 110mm, but if you were to modify it, it could be no smaller than 460mm x 101mm.

A 4 Digit plate can be no smaller than 277mm* x 101mm.
A 5 Digit plate can be no smaller than 338mm* x 101mm.
A 6 Digit plate can be no smaller than 399mm* x 101mm.
A 7 Digit plate can be no smaller than 460mm* x 101mm.

*The width can be shrunk to accomidate the thinner letters such as character 1 and I

The example of the OP's plate would mean the plate needs to be legally no smaller than 363mm x 101mm using legal 14mm Stroke width characters with all the correct spacing, and importantly as of 2008 with the company name and postcode in the bottom (cough)

yep, had mine before 2008, so didn't need the 'shops/garage' name on it. just BS# to show it's legal.
