Default My 2001 Bugeye WRX

Hi all, Newbie here! Thought i would introduce myself and my pride and joy at the same time!!

She is a 2001 WRX 'Bug' (Marmite for some!)

Its a big work in progress really, But here she is as she stands!

She is currently running 266BHP & 269ft-lb

Japspeed de-cat with 3'' Pipe straight through
Walbro Fuel pump
3 Port boost soilenoid
HKS Mushroom Air Filter
ECU-TEC re-map

Had roof/centre spolier/centre bonnet & all the window edges carbon wrapped, Very effective!!

Going for bigger brakes and BC coilovers this month so hopefully she will really come alive!!

Oppinions welcome!!

Matty

+1. Also mate for a full decat I'd have expected a bit more power.
Less than 270 is a little low. Possibly a very conservative map? Mapped on 95 RON?

Might be the HKS kit. I'd get that straight back to standard with a quality panel filter.
What brakes you looking at?
And welcome btw

Unless you have a FMIC I would completely agree - I'd expect 270-280 with your mods. 266 is PPP territory which has a cat and a generic map

Thank you guys!!

It was mapped with a Pipercross panel filter and to 99ron? Got it done by Powerstation in Tewksbury, Kinda expected more outta it as i had a major service done aswell the day before it was mapped!!

Brakes unsure, Only really wanna hit the 300 mark so a full set of EBC disks & red stuff pads + some braided hoses should see that power ok!

Looking for a VF35, STi Pinks & FMIC not too long from now so that should hopefully sort that out lol!

Bit of advice mate:
1. If the car wasn't mapped with the HKS item remove it. You'll be suffering massive heat soak in the engine bay and won't be drawing enough cold air. Not all that good for the engine.

2. Go for blue stuff not red stuff pads. I've tried yellow stuff and found them prone to fade after 2 or 3 hard stops. Red stuff would probably struggle to stop the car!

3. Get 5.1 fluid AND braided lines to stop even better

Enjoy

ive got ebc discs along with ggr braided hoses,5.1 brake fluid n red stuff pads. after driving the car hard for about 10 mins the pads seem to loose a bit of efficiency so like the other guy said go for a better brake pad m8 n u will av a car that will stop on a sixpence.

Hi mate, welcome.

Did you get your car from launch motorsport or have you added the graphics yourself?

Saw their cars at Castle Coombe last month and they were tearing round the track!
