Default My new runaround :)

As many of you will know I used to have this

Then it was broken last year, in fact a year ago today !! Very sad to see it go but needed the funds etc. Have been driving a big fat boring mondeo 2.0 TDCI for all this time and whilst Fat Bob was practical, economic and okay to drive, the latest bill from the garage meant his time was up.

Sourced a sport from Leeds, collected in on Saturday just gone and voila, my new runaround/project car
Had a sport years ago (T Reg) and loved it so know these cars pretty well and it will suffice as my daily car for a while without all the headaches that are associated with the turbo models which I have been there, done that.

No time to fettle with it today as I had to get Fat Bob clean ready for its new owner but as this scoob will obviously change over time, thought I should show the starting point.

It has had one owner from new and by the looks of it never been touched !! Well the engine bay certainly hasnt
There is a LOT to do with it but a looming wedding means I am putting off doing anything major until funds allow. All that will be done is to sort out the urgent items , like exhaust, whining diff etc. The rest can wait but a damn good clean is in order.

Will keep you lot up to date as it progresses

I reckon the rusty exhaust has about another 500 miles left before the whole thing falls apart !

Too much grief TBH and although I miss the kick, this will suffice me for the time being

Steve, I know hard to find sports around in this colour it seems so I was lucky especially on the price, well below a grand

Not bad for a runaround, still plenty of scope to play, and add a turbo lump when you get bored

You certainly will. I have not been very active in that section as Fat Bob was cleaned but never detailed and most of my detailing kit just sat languishing in the garage. But now this scoob has come along, I will be putting up the stages of the BIG clean . I think the engine bay might have its own thread !!

I had thought of contacting everyone and saying "can I have them back' but to be honest I only need a few things and as it is a semi-project car I will be taking my time as the funds allow. Not doing anything drastic just fixing the bits that need fixing now.

The rest can wait until later in the year.

Tell you what though, the admins on www.imprezasport.net are one slow bunch. Over a day now sitting waiting to be validated !

Lets hope the members are a bit quicker to respond to requests and sharing ideas

Nice Sport Tony.
There's plenty of mod's to be done on them too,
I think most of the Sport/Turbo parts are interchangable.

As for Imprezasport.net the Admin is just one bloke so it
might take a while. I didn't know you had to be authorised
though tbh. I thought you just had to introduce yourself
then you could become a member.

Yeah, you have to make an Introductions thread before you can do anything else.

The most common mods are handling mods, so suspension, brakes, anti-roll bars then all the image parts are exactly the same as the turbos.

I think it is, called Mike I believe. I registered, activated the email and then it says you have to be validated now. They probably think I am a spambot
