I really need to keep score on these things but can you guess whats happening An oil pipe came loose at the 1st hairpin and poured hot oil over the engine at the MLR Silverstone event This was on the practise runs and was fixed and burned off before the proper runs started















.

 

Did they charge u for anything? If it was the ring they would of raped u silly.

 

fakme steve your lucky it didnt set a light.thats just what happened to me when my oil cooler pipe burst all over my headers and it caught hold straight away.lucky escape fella.

exactly what happened to me

 

I was scared stiff on my 1st couple of runs afterwards as everytime i returned to the pit area the engine bay was smoking but it was only the oil burning off the wrapped headers

 

Didn't you lose an engine before because of a fire?

 

Never lost an engune but it did have a bad fire due to dodgy mecnanic work.
