Default My little project

Here is my little project, not much to some of you guys, but nice challange for me.
I'm not a mechanic, so just relying on mates and the forums to help me out

The car itself is a 1993 wrx. I bought it of ebay in july this year in a sorry little state.
I won it for the sum of £645 with a nocking engine, dent on both drivers side doors, and just not very clean.
Here was the picture of it off ebay-

And some the day after i got it home-

I had it moved to a uint were i began pulling it apart to see the state of it.
Heres a picture of the engine before coming out s you can see totally standard-

I started to collect bits here and there for it whislt waiting for my new engine to be collected,
i managed to get myself some rota grids with R888's and hks hyper d coilovers.
and clear indicators. and full 3" system, 4pots

Next was to remove my knocking engine that i sold to olly clark,
and refit my new close deck engine with all new belts and gaskets-

i managed to remove the engine myself but had a friend help to refit the new one

Now the car had all new oils, gaskets and was ready for mot and tax!
it passed straight through with the only advisory on 2 perished tyre valves, So i was over the moon!

I then replaced the tiger stripped seats for v2 sti fr+rr and fitted a big wing and this is how she stood-

.

I had the car dynoed at surrey rolloing road were it made 284.2bhp

This is how the car stayed for a month or two, then i decided that i wasnt happy with the way it looked so i made my mind up! i wanted a stock looking wrx that handles and drives really nice but also needed to push around 300bhp and be able to attend some track days in the new year,
So that was that i had made my mind up and this is it currently
remove all the non standard body parts, start to fit my cusco 6 point cage,
refit standard wheels( i know there version 2 but the version ones wount clear the 4pots)
and get the handling perfect! iam having the two front whhels refubed at the mo.

Does anyone know were i can get this sticker again?
the ebay ones arnt the exact same.

on the handling side of things it only has-top
cusco brace,
bottom cusco h brace
rear sti brace
cusco cage,
hks coilys
and some poly bushes,

In the next couple of months my aim is to replace nealy all bushes,
fit uprated engine/box mounts.
both arbs replaced and all discs and pads
4 new tyres most likley pradas
and get on the track!
thanks for reading Benji

Looking good
You need to paint the calipers black if your going for the standard look.....

Regarding the sticker it might be worth a look on the Graham Goode racing website, they show a lot of original impreza stickers on there. That's where I got my old sti type r one from, it wasn't cheap but worth it IMO as it annoys me when people remove the original decals.

Good work getting it for £645. The paint work looks nice and bright and there doesn't seem to be any of the usual rust in the rear arches? Nice clean engine bay aswell

Personally I'd keep the clear indicators/repeaters. Totally standard isn't always best IMO

Nothing wrong with the red calipers, but need the white lettering to finish them off.

disagree with the above on the colour coding. Mine has been fully colour coded since '03 and I wouldn't have it any other way.

absolutely cracking mate. you may not be mechanically minded but clearly have access to the right equipment, which really makes tackling this sort of thing a little easier. well done, it's looking really nice.

These are going cadburys purple and the spoiler is going back to either low level or none at all.
