I like the Type R for what it is, but the two are completley different, there are hardly any similarities IMO between the two! I dont want to rave on about how good the Spec C was in almost every aspect, but its only now that I full appreciate how good it actually was. (now that its gone
)
The Type R being smaller, shorter wheelbase, lighter, is more old skool in its approach & is also great fun. I do enjoy occasionaly throwing it into rounabouts & holding the back out & slow speeds. The Spec C would take a lot more speed & aggresive driving to bait it into getting the back end out for a bit of fun. The TYpe R is a bit of a "mallet" compared to the finely designed "chisel" of a Spec C, but I somehow find the TypeR more fun to drive on road, the same probably cant be said on track though where the Spec C really came into its own.

Looks spot on Ricky, what are / if any differences between the type r and wrc limited, engines / chassis wise or is it just subaru's normal thing of giving a car a build number and different coloured seats and calling it a special edition lol
After owning 4 classics ,I always wanted a version 6 type r wrc as my next one. I was concerned that they are 10 years old now so I bought a 05 Jdm Sti. In an ideal world I,d have both of them.

Thats pretty much it Stevie, blue seats, digi odometer, blue dash inserts & whitge clocks, maybe a longer 5th gear IIRC. Just the last run out 1000 models of the TypeR.
Dolmite I was also torn between a newage JDM Sti or a Ver6 Type R, I think the next one Il get will be a Hawk or hatch JDM Sti

Now the hatch JDM STI sounds like a nice car to consider next.

Alladin, car runs fine on 10mm spacers, hardly notice any difference really, but for a trackday etc I would take them off.
But a warning to all Type R owners, please be very careful when rolling rear arches: A little roll might be ok but if you have them pulled like mine then the whole rear quater panel ripples & flexes as its all once piece (unlike on a 4 door). Which has left a new 22b style pull line across both arches. From some angles it looks spot on but from other angles it almost looks like they have been fractionally dented!
