Tbh no lol just maintain it as it has been and just enjoy it really . Roger Clarke has done a fair amount of maintenance to it so it's all tip top , running standard power but by god it shifts lol :-).

Its a shame that they arent a true STI (mechanically, as the V3> were), but after the 1995 STI Type-RA, V2 'Wagons are definitely my favourite. With a 260PS engine theyre able to run perfectly well on UK fuel too, which the laters cars couldnt.
Want.

He's not meaning that in a bad way. He's saying V1's & V2's were modified WRXs by STI. Whereas from the V3 onwards the STi was its own fully developed car from factory.

When you say people like me, do you mean 'people who really know the cars', with fifteen years experience?
Its people like you that caused me to hardly bother with SN any more.

The 1994 WRX STIs (GF8 & GC8) were altered production cars, as was the 1995 WRX STI Type RA, with the 1996 model year being the first to have STI models built in series production and these were the V2s.
The V2 'Wagon was something of a hybrid using the standard 260PS Saloon engine, turbo and ECU with the V3 MY'97 cars onwards having similar running gear to the Saloons.

Just seems when ever someone mentions an sti version there's always something to say about it not being a real one in Essenes , I'm very happy with the car and It's not been abused or messed with .

Perhaps I should have said 'real' or maybe real as I was talking about the engine in this particular model, which I suspect that FHI built to see whether there was a market for GF8 STIs. The clue to this is that they dont have a unique applied model number either, which the MY97 did.
Anyway, my second favourite Classic after the 1995 STI Type-RA. I spoke to someone the other day who has one which was registered on an 02 plate by the DVLA after they accepted that it was unused in Japan - its like new. Not for sale though.

Bogus STIs have been a real problem for 10+ years, but I dont have any doubt your car is a real STI.
