MY RALLY CAR
#5
Nice! Very true there isnt many Legacy's on the stages nowerdays.
£4000 budget . . .well done! Is that after or aswell buying the car?
I dont suppose you have a little spec sheet do you?
Im only interested because Im hoping to either build or buy something to go rallying with in the not to distant future.
So when will be the first event?

£4000 includes everything..spare wheels and tarmac tyres and a lamp pod, so for £4000 you get a fairly basic rally car, not sure when its coming out yet as theres still jobs to do, but its up and running and MOT'd

i was going to take my time and make it immacculate, but my mate built his historic mk1 escort for £25,000 then it went in classic ford (6 page feature) then on his second rally wrote the car off.......so i hope i dont end up on there....wonder if my mate will tho

Have you got an MSA logbook for it?
Im guessing to obtain one they will have to inspect the car right and make sure that all safety gear and roll cage are in order? (MSA approved cage, date stamped seats, harnesses)
Im just trying to sum up weather to buy a car already built or build my own and maybe get better value?
Good luck on youre fist event whichever one it is.

Sorry to sound daft but where does it go to be inspected? Or do you find an MSA approved scrutioneer through youre car club?
I read about the new dry break thing for the fuel sample, mudflaps though??
34mm restrictor ehy, will one be running anti lag? Which ECU are you using by the way?
Il definatly be looking and costing up the differences between a Legacy and an Impreza thats for sure.
Nice work

i get a local scrutineer (in the MSA blue book) to come to the garage, as the engine is almost standard the 34mm restrictor will do nothing but its a requirement so no need to spend money on different ecu's etc, also no anti lag, money wise it depends if you want to just go out and have fun thats why this build is only £4000, keep the car fairly standard, hope to have reliablity.......for this sort of money i could be rallying a bog standard peugeot 205.....eeerrrr no thanks, haha
