Hi all I have had 2 wrx'x in the past 1 classic and 1 bug eye, I havent currently got 1 at the moment im making plans for next year thou, which is a better drive/ performance, handling the saloon or hatch??

If i did buy another scoob next year then if the saloon then it be the hawkeye sti or even the hatch the more i see the white hatch's more i like them blue as well, ideas be great

The hatch is helped with a little tweeking...
22mm Rear ARB to reduce bodyroll (even though it still handles well)
Stiffer valve in the power steering (Litchfield offer this mod to weight up the light steering)
Prodrive springs (or similar). Just to lower the Center of gravity a touch, helps with the roll.. again, not needed but helps things without creating a harsh ride.

The saloon is a great car out the box...but is surpassed by the Hatch in standard form, and once these tweeks are done, the hatch "feels" better too.

Saloon! Hatch seems to be prone to engine disaster n looks like a turd and most of the guys who own them have changed virtually everything as soon as they get into them

That's half the fun BF!

(I notice your saloon is still standard... )

As for the weak engines... so far the only cars that have spat the dummy are ones running on the 2008 OEM map (Including some on the 330s Prodrive map)... there are quite a few on here running 50-80bhp more with no issues whatsoever, so it's not the engine that's at fault, it's the fueling.

oooops have i started something here lol, i was looking at a new wrx-s last night looked quite tidy to be honest, a brand new sti would be out my price range to be honest taking in to consideration fuel costs, i looked at the pricing for road tax on the wrx-s and according to parkers for the first year after april its £900 odd quid in the first year is that right??? if so id rather get the new golf gtd 120per year lol

£900 sounds a bit steep... £420 odd isn't it?

IIRC you pay £900 odd in the first year, then it returns to £405. Another nice 'serve you right for having a nice car' tax
