Oh look at what i got myself for X'mas...
a JDM Impreza WRX STI Spec C
Background information:
Back in August, i was informed by the local dealership that there was a batch (15 to be exact) of brand new 2007 (GDB-G) Spec Cs that can be road registered and sold to private owners. Previously they only sell the Spec Cs, to rally teams and privateers and not for road registration. So after, 4 long months, it's finally open for booking and sells for about the same as a Euro 2008 Impreza STI here. There are only 15, so i got my ar$e down last Friday to put my name on one of them.
The local dealership runs a Group N rally team, so i'm guessing that these are leftover units that were previously used for the Group N rallying.
Anyhow, i don't care what they were for, all i care about if it's a genuine JDM Spec C. And so, the chassis plate says it is.
Sorry for the blurred picture. It says GDBG4FH
I can't wait to finally drive her! I've always wanted one of these, but could never afford it as these were mainly brought in by gray importers, and due to the tax system over here and exchange rates, these are grossly more expensive than the Euro STIs that the main dealership brings in. So these are really rare here.
Spec C owners, let me know what i'll be experiencing soon!....And if you've driven the Euro STI, let me know how it compares. Ok, i've read that it's a different animal altogether, i just wanna hear it once more!

Thanks guys!
This will be my 3rd Subaru, but the 1st proper JDM model. I hope i'll be able to collect it by the end of this month if everything goes according to plan.

^ Bah! I just had read your final tune result and driving impression. Sounds like it goes quite bloody fast!
Love that numbered switch on the centre console. Reminds me of the ATD switch in the Prodrive P1.

I ended up getting a JDM Sti Ver9 (widetrack) at a cracking price so can't complain too much. Would have preferred a Hawk though
I would do the exhaust: decat or high flow cat 3" system all the way with a resonator & backbox e.g. maybe Miltek or Fujitsubo. Cosworth or K&N panel filter & then a remap. Brakes just need a pad upgrade & at a later stage maybe some 2 piece disks. Brembo calipers are fine IMO. Wheels are up to you but keep the originals stored away.

Remap is a problem for me, as i don't trust anyone here to do it. Been there done that with my bugeye wrx few years back. Got a half ar*ed job by local tuner.
Yeah i agree the factory Brembos are fine, but the RA-R 6 pots are just They are money though. Choices choices....

Oh, didn't realise your display car has changed. Anyway, i think the Ver9 or MY05 as some call it are very nice cars as well. Any pictures?

For a remap the person who knows these cars inside out & one of the most reputable IMO would be Ian Litchfield of Litchfield Imports. I would just hand him the keys & close you eyes, you wouldn't need to tell him anything he doesnt already know & he's been involved with JDM Ecutek remaps for a long time.
These days I use a tuner & mapper locak to me called FB Tuning who also knows his way around these cars extremley well & does Open Source mapping as an alternative to ecutek.

Agree that Litchfield knows these cars like the back of his own hands, but you do know i'm quite far off from the UK do you.
