been as though it was a nice day tday thought i would sort my calipers out as they were in bad shape
forgot to take 1 before shot but you will see what they looked like lol.
This is what you will need

so firstly i jacked up the car and removed the wheel,
then i began maskin up the arch making sure anyhing i didnt want red was covered lol

you can see in the last pic how bad the calipers looked.
once i was hapy everwhere was covered up i began sanding them off tryin toget most of the old paint off.

Once i was happy with the sanding i then wiped them clean with some paint prep wipes (get them from halfords etc)
and made sure they were dust free and dry ready for paint.
i added the paint in five or so thin coats

untill i was happy with all the parts being covered in equal(ish) amounts of paint lol

I then went and had a cuppa and bite to eat and let them dry for 45mins
Then came the tricky part in which i was lucky enough to have steady hands for lol
i sprayed the white paint into the lid and set to work on painting the "subaru" lettering lol no all you have to do is be paitient and take your time its not a race lol

so after 30 mins of deep breathing i had finished 1 caliper and was very pleased with how neat i actully was

i then went and had another cuppa and waited for them to dry but when i went out to them i thought they looked abit dull so poped out to get some heat resistant lacquar (cant spell) and gave them two coats 15 mins apart.
so back off 4 another cuppa and let them dry again.
when i went back to check them i removed the paper and masking tape to be left with these little beauties

wheels back on and these are the finished results

im really chuffed with how they turned out and i think its a well worth cause
hope you all like them and think you should all have a go to

i did it slightly different when i did mine.
I put some braided hoses on so i took the caliper fully off. Went over it real well with a drill untill it was bare metal. then painted it with a kit and high temp clear laquer.
however i used a sticker instead of painting the letters. It looks much cleaner and crisp. And its stood up to a few track days. Stickers are available on ebay for about a tenner. it seems cheap but will give a real good finish.

only thing bout doing the calipers with the brush on paint is that it sometimes leaves brush marksas i found out on old car so decided to spray these and much better result imo

i went over it 2x cuz i put 2 thin layers on making it easir to paint hope this helps

hi guys, just found this thread and its something im planning on doing this summer!!! Is there anything in particular you need to mask up? is it ok to just paint the caliper like you have shown? does it not seize them or anything detrimental like that???
