Made to small 'L' brackets, bolted them to the bumper and stuck the number plate to them....dammed good job:

Cut down the number plate size a little also

Mine was here originally (3/4 size plate);

But now I'm going for the skirtless look I'm putting this one (with black mesh behind the numbers) placed in the OEM place (like playsatan);

If I could get away with it though I'd have it without

i think if you have a FMIC the best looking will be the evo style plate on the side

I run mine without. Illegal but I manage to talk my way out of tickets quite well.

I found it looked ugly sat on the bumper and I hate the lack of symetry having it off to one side.

I am thinking of getting a small one made up and mounting in front of the fmic but I think that would attract more attention than no front plate.

How do you talk your way out of having no front plate, all tips greatfully received as I'd love to do it!!!

A 3/4 plate (motorbike size letters) is actually legal on jap import cars! Mine is a UK model so not an 'import' in a true sense! I don't think that coppers could tell the difference anyway hence mine not being pulled for it in the two years its been on and also passing its MOT every year!!

It is true that jap cars with single vehicle approval (SVA) do not have to conform to the UK type approved cars standards and they can slightly different sizes. I was discussing this with a fellow scoobynetter friend of mine who is a copper and he swore blind this wasn't true and he'd have given a ticket for it.

Mind you he is a bit of a know it all even when he knows squat. Paging Coulty

There was thread on it a couple of months ago with a link to the .gov website that spelled it all out. I'd have a look if the search was working.
