New member with Version 5 Type R
Hiya Folks.
My names Brian. This is my 3rd Impreza (the previous 2 have been type R's aswell) so i thought it was about time that i joined as i've been meaning to for years now.
I live just outside of Derby,
Im self employed and earn my living by travelling the country installing Smartrack Tracking systems onto cars amongst other things such as alarms, Bluetooth hands free kits etc etc.... My company name is Swad ICE, And i also Trade on ebay under user id brianviautronic.
Im hoping (subject to speaking with the site owner/moderators) to be able to offer all of you scoobynet members special member discounts on tracking systems if nobody is already doing so.
So fingers crossed i'll get to meet some of you in the coming months/years hopefully.
Here's a little about my pride and joy, and a few pictures aswell;
1999 Cool Grey STI Type R
Imported 2003
Spec is as follows (its not too crazy)
fully rebuilt engine approx 8000 miles ago using the following parts.
New version 5 block
Fully overhauled cylinder heads
New version 8 crankshaft
Eagle rods
Cosworth forged pistons
ACL Race big end and main bearings
ARP bolts
Cosworth 3 layer steel headgaskets
RCM Oil pump
+ all of the other usual bits and bobs.
Modifications are as follows;
3 inch RCM Exhaust system
Whiteline control springs
Whiteline anti roll bars
Whiteline anti lift kit
Whiteline rear droplinks
Greddy V-SPL FMIC kit
255l/ph pump
RCM Induction kit (had to due to intercooler)
crystals all round
6000k hid's
319.4bhp & 324ft'lb torque on std management and boost
7 x 16 inch Desmond Regamaster EVO's with Bridgestone RE-01'S
And i think thats about it (although i've possibly missed a few things here and there)
If anyone knows who i need to approach with regards to setting up member discounts then that would be much appreciated!
And all comments good and bad are welcomed.
Thanks alot, Brian

Thanks for the comment fella, they were taken at a pedestrial underpass beneath the A50 at Sudbury (in between uttoxeter and Burton on Trent). However......... at the time i didnt realise that the walkway lead through to the grounds of Sudbury open prison
After about 10 mintues or so of being there and taking photo's my friend and i were ambushed by the police!
Turns out they'd had reports of two sports cars acting rather dubiously around the prison (my friend was in his EK9 CTR), so they just presumed that we were attempting to break out a prisoner lol
So after being searched and slapped on the wrists, we were told very firmly to move on and never to return
In hindsight it was abit of a daft place to park a car and take pictures, but i reckon it was worth it
Thanks for the comments folks!!!

Thanks for that
Yeah the wheels are pretty rare nowadays as they're no longer in production.
Were made by Desmond Co of Russia, and are pretty light at 5.4kg each.
I've wanted a set for ages, and a few months ago i fell lucky
The same wheel was also produced in black for Spoon (honda guys)
Cheers! Brian

The front lip is a version 6 STI item as far as im aware???.
My first cool grey type R had one on, but my champagne silver one didn't.
And this has got one aswell
I like them aswell, not quite as brash as the P1 version, but i think it does the job
And thanks again everyone for your comments
