Scooby Project 56k need not apply!!!!
Hi all, pretty new to Scoobs, but have had loads of performance cars. I've owned 2 mag featured big-mod Nova's in the past (both featured in at least two mags!!!!) both having had engine conversions and resprays, interior retrims, coilovers, ICE, knocking on the door of 200bhp etc..... I'll let the pics do the talking.
Anyway, I don't have the time anymore to do @big mod@ projects, due to full time 6day a week job, and a demanding wife and ten year old son LOL!!!! I work for VW and drive nice company cars and I can justify the scoob as a weekend car that can still be practical, in a way that an 80's box with a snorting engine cannot!!!!! So, I've decided to do a little bit of visual styling, and some power mods and some ICE. New wheels are on the shopping list after I have had a remap very soon...........................
Here's the scoob when I bought it. Pretty standard, with a prodrive backbox and bugeye wheels..............

You mean STI??
It's not like I've put a P1 or 22B badge on though is it???? I'm not pretending the car is an STI.............
I thought the fog covers were an STI part ?
What would you suggest I put on the fog covers instead?

Looking pretty good, but as above I would have left off the STi stickers - your choice though
Oh, and to get into the the 290-300bhp bracket you will need to change your turbo from TD04 to something else. TD04h/TD05/VF23-24-28-34-35 etc.
Exhaust/Filter/Remap will almost certainly see you @ 270-280bhp. Believe me thats enough with nice early spool due to TD04, but if you want more then swap the turbo, uprate your fuel pump and remap.

what darms said
Porting the OEM headers and running a free flowing filter will help you move towards 300bhp but as Stixx says 300bhp is a very high output for a standard TD04...have a look at Andy Forrests site for a tweaked TD04. You would have been better retaining the 2.5" system until you upgrade the turbo to something that shifts a bit more air. You won't need a 3" system until 350bhp+
Get yourself some sti rear lamps and silver bulbs to complete the de-tango
