Dont know if you know mate but there is a huge difference between a set of version 7 and version 8 seats.

Did anyone answer my question about fitting newage doorcards into a classic. Judging by some of the photos, some people have managed it, so any tips ?

because I was always told, that they just dont fit period

You could source some rb5 doorcards to go with the new age seats, can be expensive tho!

I dont need to bother because my interior doorcards are dark blue/black which kinda suits my sti8 seats colour scheme..but the retrimming idea certainly is the way to go for some people I guess.

easy mate.

slid seats forward, pop off covers with your fingers or screwdriver. They just come off with some decent leverage,no need for tools or force.

they all have little clips/wedges on them, so you have to prise them off one side at a time...believe me I have taken these buggers off loads of times.

mint they aint (as described) , weren't unbolted but ripped out looking at the brackets , and 2 dodgy stains and lots of dust

anyhooooo , fitted them today with me mate, Simon, thank **** , couldn't have done it on me tod , got the UK ones out in 10 minutes and the new ones in within 10 minutes, then we hit snags , all the brackets were bent and wouldn't line up , trusty old pliers and mole grips came in handy . . . then the fakkin car wouldn't start so we tried 'jumping' it , nope, didnt want to know so we jumped it off my wagon straight to the starter motor , fired up that time , got in to go kwik fit for another battery , bloody seat belts wouldn't click in FFS
had to remove the bits off the UK seats and swap them over, not good when the seats are in position, anyways, got it done eventually , but they were pointing too far forward cuz they're slightly different, off they come, out comes the angle grinder , zummm zummm later and we're refitting them ,
perfect
a 30 minute job took us nearly 2 hours .

down to me mates at kwik fit, 1 new battery later and all is good

having the car valeted friday and m8y is doing the seats as well so should be all 'mint' then.

they're alot more comfy but just a tadge high , even on the lowest they are 1 inch higher than the UKs , didn't like it at first but after driving it i soon found it ok , gives a little more leg room as well . . should soon settle in with my weight on them

may get the door cards retrimmed now in the same colours
