Default Show us your old cars...

I'm not sure if its been done before, but not seen a thread like it for a while..... so thought I'd start another one.

I'll get the ball rolling, but just to warn you all, this is a LONG post and people rolling on a bad boy 56k connection might want to go make a cup of tea while it loads.

- 1986 Mk2 XR2 (not actual pic): Had this car for about 6 months, properly good banter... until I left it somewhere in Fife and it got trashed. Power: 100bhp (estimated)

- 1992 Citroen BX GTi 16v (not actual pic): Bought this when I lost my XR2, it cost me 80quid and lasted about a fortnight before I burnt the clutch out and left it sitting there. Power: 150bhp (Citroen Figs.)

- 2000 Mondeo 2.0 Zetec: First 'proper' car and it was pretty quick, did a lot of miles in it cause I was working thru in Kirkcaldy at the time.. when I'd finished with it, I gave it to my dad so he could use it in London and not worry about getting dents/dings in his car. Power: 136bhp (Ford Figs.)

- 1992 Series 2 RS Turbo: Always promised myself an S2 and when I got rid of the Mondeo I decided to bite the bullet and go for it.. so managed to buy a J-Reg 1992 RS Turbo, one of 8 that were registered. I absolutely loved this car and threw thousands at it. Power: 167bhp @ wheels, 0.9bar.

- 1999 Subaru Impreza Turbo: After having the RS, I was addicted to Turbo power.. and having friends with Imprezas didnt help. I was getting pissed off at the RS being tempremental in traffic and breaking wee things now and again..... so, I went and bought this from Town and County in Perth. Power: 260-270bhp (estimated)

- 1999 Honda Civic VTi: Got offered a crazy deal for my Impreza above, so I decided to swap for this Civic plus a mountain of cash.. as it turns out, this car was one of my all time favorites. It was quick, handled well, sounded awesome and it never ever let me down despite getting a large amount of VTEC every day. Power: 175bhp

- 1998 Subaru Impreza Turbo: One of my friends in the Subaru Owners Club was wanting to move away from his Impreza for something a little less expensive to run so a straight swap deal was done.. and I set to work transforming the look of the new Scoob...... this was one of my best looking cars IMO, still in the area too. Power: 240bhp (estimated)

- 1993 Honda Civic VTi: Bought this from a guy I knew in the area, had a load of mods on it.. and was quick. So after I blew it up the first night I had it, I went for a B18 conversion on it..... after that it really did go like a train, things werent meant to be though and it spun a bearing and I sold it on eBay and recovered pretty much all my money I'd spent. Power: 169bhp

- 1994 Toyota Celica GT4 WRC: This was the quickest car that I've ever owned and it sounded the absolute bollox, JUN Cams, TD06 Turbo, External Wastegate and Screamer Pipe... awesome, bought this off one of my best mates after he'd spent a lot of money on it. Great fun, smoked loads of stuff in that including a 911 Carrera 4S & new E55 AMG among other things. Power: 400.3bhp @ 0.9bar

- 1992 Peugeot 205 GTi: This was ****, smoked like a bitch, didnt go fast, didnt sound nice and it felt like raindrops would dent the bodywork.. but it was clean and it handled well. Power: 60bhp, max (estimate)

- 1992 Rover 216 GTi: This is the funniest car I've owned, still got it. Its got the Twin Cam Honda Engine so its actually pretty quick and with the DIY Motorsport Induction Kit I've fitted to it, it sounds awesome too.. List of kills include Saxo VTS, Vectra 2.0 16v and numerous other Corsas etc. Power: 120bhp (estimate)

- 1999 Subaru Impreza Turbo PPP: This is the cleanest Impreza I've bought, 40k miles, rare colour, well cared for, low owners... Bought a few parts for it, then got an offer from a guy I know through in Arbroath so I sold it on to him. Power: 260bhp @ 1.15bar

- 1996 Vauxhall Omega Elite Estate: I remembered my old man having one of these when they were new and it was the most comfortable car I've ever been in.. so went and bought one as a runaround.. it didnt drift for **** but it was comfortable, damn thirsty on the fuel though. Power: 200bhp (estimate)

- 1997 Toyota Celica GT4: Bought mechanically/visually standard as a blank canvas to work with, came in the very rare Storm Grey colour. Spent a lot of money on the car and it still needed work done, so I punted it on after getting fed up of it. Power: 317.7bhp @ 1.05bar

- 1993 Ford Escort RS2000: Saw this car for sale on the RS Owners Club recently for a good price so decided to go along for a wee peek at it.. well I liked what I saw, so I decided to buy it there and then..... Has a few mods on it and drives really well. Sold to a mate for him to use as a runaround. Power: 165bhp

- 1999 Subaru Impreza Turbo: Was looking for a car to take dog around, mum could use occasionally for bad weather driving to her work and as a replacement for when I sold the Grey Celica as it was pissing me off.. found this absolute bargain on Autotrader and gave guy deposit over phone without seeing it, 29k miles, FSSH, mint condition... in Essex!! Power: 240bhp (estimate)

..........thats us up to date, currently got the White GT4 WRC, Rover GTi and Impreza STi Spec-D.

Cheers,
Grant

My Tommi Mak, only had 15k on it when i sold it. Autronic ecu/ anti-lag etc 370bhp/ 353 torque

My 3 door cossie, which i still miss now, 365 bhp, fully forged engine, T34 turbo, 2.1bar went like mad and all RWD fun.

And my car now, my version 6 RA, 1.4 BAR. mapped by Pat, work done by API, soon will have that silly roof vent removed, love this car....

Had other cars before these but not worth showing

Honda VTI this was a quality car bought it off some old granny and was like new only had 4000 miles on clock when it was 4 years old, spent a small fortune on it but loved honda's ever since.

After a couple of years i bought the Type r awesome motor still tempted now as there a bargain, had a straight through magnex and AEM induction kit in bumper sounded like a bloody F1 car !!. l remember over taking a van they couldnt see me behind because of the panels they had the window down , i dropped it down couple of gears when the vtec kicked in i was right next to there window you could see them ducking down thinking it was a low flying plane

Sold the Type R last october got this now and love it, but its up for sale i want a 350z

Funny you say that mate, i think the RA feels quciker to 100-120mph than the Mak did maybe it`s the way the power is delivered i guess it`s miss leading, but i swear there`s nothing in it. Remeber the RA is only about 1180kg i think, theMak was heavier, anyway, i still prefer the drive of the RA RAW.....

Started with this at 17...

95 Mini Cooper 1.3ii

Had a few of these...

98 VTR (still have a 00 VTS, and just sold a 97 VTS)

Then this...

00 2.0 Z3 Alloys/Lowered/Chipped

Then created this...

16vt Coupe, Hybrid Turbo/FMIC/Chipped/etc etc

After that went bang bought this 95 STi RA...

And by this summer it will be looking like this...

And will never let this one go

That is quite a collection of scoobs/evos ~dream~, glad to see you have settled on a classic!

Some lovely cars in this thread!

I started off with a 1.3 Talbot Sunbeam, then a 1.3 mk2 Astra, then a 2.0 GTE Astra..........

Had a 1973 Series 3 during this time too.........

Loved both of these old cars, had from 19 for 4 1/2 years, then got a BMW E36 320i.......

Then got a brand spanking new UK WRX on 52 plate..........Day I picked it up........

.......which has now been modified, a little bit

Had this for over 4 1/2 years and still loving it loads

having only had my licence for 13 months, ive only managed 4 cars.

bought this in nov 05 4 months before passing my test, as an insentive to pass first time.
this was it whaen i crashed it two months later btw, not one pic when it was in one piece (for the record it was a 1998 sport )

so 3 days after writing her off, i bought this, a 1995 silver wrx, which was technically double the bhp of the sport
(deleted all pics except the one i did on a canvas - sorry)

engine started knocking around october time, so sold it for quite a loss after spending a fair wad of ££ on her.

replaced with a 1996 pug 105 n/a 1.5 diesel, which was 3.5 times slower 0-60 than the wrx (no pics - it wasnt worthy)

started to get depressed and moody by late november, so decided to plummet myself in further debt and bought my current car on december 2nd 06. my99 uk turbo. obviously still have now.

current pic at recent donny show

plenty of mods planned as its a genuine nice example, especially being a high miler (engine rebuilt at 70k miles)
