It is/was a sony pc5e dv camcorder, which I paid £800 for back in 2001! You can buy a HD dv camcorder for that these days!
I've been searching on ebay recently, and similar spec camcorders can be had for around £200.

In hindsight that video would have better if you'd done it on a dry day
