My new car - an STi version 6
ScoobyNet is back just in time for me to post up my new car. I bought it about 3 weeks and have to say it's my dream car - an STi 6. One of the last classic shape Imprezas. The car is pretty standard with only 33k miles on the clock. It has a straight through decat, green air filter, uprated fuel pump and has been re-mapped by Andy Forrest.
It came with all the paperwork since new. The 1st owner bought it as a brand new import for £28k ?!!?!
The only things I've done is to detango the front, respray the wedges matt black, replace the MAF, fit a DetAlarm and I also had the spoiler remounted as it hadn't been fitted correctly when the large one was replaced with the mid level one. I've not had it on a rolling road, but the car goes like stink and just pulls so strongly. Really happy with her. She sounds wonderful and I like the blacked out windows look on a grey car.
Hope you like it.

Well two years later and with 94,000 miles on the clock, the engine let go. Having driven 100 miles to work and within half a mile of the office I pulled off the M5 on to the roundabout and it was really rough with smoke puring out the back.
Needless to say, I had it recoved to API. The Turbo had failed and bits of the turbine had gone in to the engine, the MAF and lamda sensor had also failed and that may have contributed to problems. After a couple of weeks we agreed upon the rebuild
TD05-20g
550cc injectors
Ported headers
ARC intercooler (top mount)
Wiseco pistons
APi branded steel rods
Modified oil pump (the second one)
Race tri-metal crank bearings
New standard journal size crank
Plus reconditioned existing gearbox and new clutch plate to solve a 5th gear crunch
Should be good for around 380bhp. So, a few (ahem!) thousand pounds later I picked it up last Saturday and now running it in as we speak. And in a couple of weeks I get a 3" exhaust fitted and it gets mapped properly.
Will let you know how I get on. Here's to another 90k miles.

Looks spot on to me, very nice car. I agree nothing needs doing to it. I may have changed the wheels to something slightly larger, but that's just my personal preference. Enjoy
