Here's mine on my old classic. Originally a brake light but was just bonded and wired in as the STi rears don't have a rear fog.

(Edited to say I miss my classic
)

I was thinking a strip light of some kind as a descrete and stylish option.
Is it bright Enough ???

Its as bright as a normal brake light so it serves its purpose just fine. Some people normally rewire the right hand side reverse light with the STi rears but I preferred it this way as I didn't have to bother swapping over when I was back and forth Germany
I replaced my rear lights with some sti rears.
As its a uk car i just rewired one of the reversing lights to the old fog light connectors and put a red bulb in
10 minute job

Could you not mod another bulb into the reverse light section that is wired to a fog switch ??
I guess it would have to be a white bulb which glows red when illuminated else the reverse light would be red too

Yep use the offside reverse light as most have said.
There is no need for a hideous red light hanging from the bumper or butchered into the bumper, looks blumin sick.
I just used some red glass paint from an art shop to paint the reverse light bulb.

My old Type R was fitted with an extra Bulb in a redundant hole in the Driver side Red Bit (Next to the Brake Light) . It got past the SVA and 3 MOT's like it.
You just need another Bulb holder and a 21w bulb.
