Nice looking cossie fella. I've got a soft spot for the cossie-especially the 3dr Sierra and Sapphire. Did consider one of these instead of Scooby-but missus wanted newer car.
The engine looks nice-just wondered why it's out of a Sierra/Sapphire. I know the older engine can run more power/boost/torque etc.
Cheers Paul.

Only the late escorts with efi injection management have slightly different looks to the engine.
they are all roughly the same as the first cosworth engines though.

Lovely car mate. There's one near me that l see driving about, always painfully slow and with an old fellow behind the wheel. We've always discussed going to him and asking for such a good car to be set free in the wild.

Very nice tidy example
So hard to find in good condition these days too
I loved my Sapphire 4X4 but in the end the old dash and constant bills for minor problems drove me insane and I changed. Had two in my time though, both were good cars. Always wanted an Escort too. Maybe one day!
Pics here if anyones interested!

King Eric,
very nice example,looks mint.
is it smokestone or black, both pretty rare colours.
'k' reg too,one of the last ones.
i had a 'k' reg, 93 in silver, really liked the colour, but sadly involved in a accident, then it was escort time.

Dave, it was smokestone
When it was dirty it looked black, and when it was clean it changed colour depending on the angle. People who did'nt know their cossies used to ask if I had it resprayed because it was immaculate, no accident damage and it had over £12,000 of bills with the car.
The guy who owned it before me (from new) only ever had it repaired at Ford garages and some of the bills he paid with them were scarey. On one of the bills they had actually charged him labour to change all the bulbs in the headlamps and rear lights too-and he paid it! He also had the original bill of sale, all of the Cosworth Sales Brochures and a personalised letter from the dealer principal thanking him for his purchase of his new 4X4 and one of the last the would be selling
It truely was a cult car. He put a new exhaust on it and a stage one chip as he felt it was sluggish compared to his other cars he owned and did some sensible mods. Sadly the place he took it to put a dump valve on it and he said it made him feel like a bit of a Kev
I walked away with it for £6000.00 and sold it two months later for £7995. It did only have 60k on the clock too.
Great cars. Enjoy yours

Love it.
Only problem I have with Escort Cosworths is that everytime I see one I automatically think it's a replica...

Clarkson always said he regretted selling his...
Change the lights though, and IMHO put the standard alloys back on - one of the best looking wheels ever if you ask me.

still loving the ol Escort cossie, gr8 no. pl8 btw...
the later escorts had smaller turbo's then the earlier ones but cme with all the optional extra's as standard (they did the same with the escort RS turbo)
the morrettes look so spot on on the cossie.
here's my brother's ltd edt Gloss black one:
As you can see he get's bored with the wheels quickly.
he's currently running the white compomotives which i think look perfect

cossies!! The only cars I would find it hard to choose a scooby over! Though the choice between escort or RS500 would take some time deciding.....
Cracking car though mate not a single thing on it I would change

Johnny50, it would be about 400bhp if the boost was turned up a bit more, but i have not got a wrc metal head gasket on it, so it is running lowish boost.
Thanks for the replys lads.
