My Corolla AE86 Levin
Well,
its taken the best part of a year to track this little puppy down.
The spec is somewhat extensive:
Body: Resprayed 2 less than a year ago, TRD fibre boot lid
SSR XRX 15 by split 7.5 rims, Sparco steering wheel Extended gear lever, Half Roll cage, NAMS strut bulk head supports, Cusco front and rear strut braces
Running gear - Toyota Racing Developments 2way LSD, Light flywheel and TRD Clutch, Rebuilt Gearbox, 4pot brakes, 6point rear links including Cusco Lower rear arms, Cusco Lateral rod, Poly bushed,
TRD Fully Adjustable dampers, Cusco adjustable pillow/top mounts. Fly off handbrake.
Engine 1.6L - Just Rebuilt - AE92 block, Ported Head with Big Valves, Think 288 timed camshalfs, Forged Crank, Rods and Pistons, Metal Gaskets, Roller Barrel Throttle Bodies, Bigger Injectors, Trust 4-2-1 Manifold, Apexi N1 Exhaust, Fully mappable Freedom ECU. Makes 180(ish) bhp.... at 9200rpm.
180BHP ? pah - that doesn't sound like much - trust me - it is. This car kicks its a$$ out without any help from me. It sure does steer on the throttle.
Few electrical niggles to figure out, sidelights don't work, numberplate lights don't work, heater temp control don't work, fuel gauge has a mind of its own LOL.
It has a few niggles but its basically great fun. Those who know about the Corolla GT will appreciate what this car is. Those that dont will think its a riced up curry delivery car. LOL

Cool car, I'd like to own one again but sold mine recently as I had a offer I couldnt refuse... pics here http://www.evoposters.net/carsb/album16
How much did that set up back if I you don't mind me asking ???
Rot is a problem on many of them, the front inner wings etc.... mine only had 120hp and to be honest it was all you needed in the wet, wasnt as much fun in the dry though.

Too much - but its all relative.
Over the last year I have viewed many $#!TTAS all priced between £3000 - £4000 and many of them were total rot boxes. I paid (call me stupid if you like) a smidge over 5K for this one. Most of these cars usually get snapped up by folks in ireland so I was lucky I guess. Irish autotrader has some crazy prices for them.
The fact that it has been stripped back to the shell recently means there is only a tiny bit of rust above the offside rear light - easy to sort. The firewall, turrets and suspension pickup points, floorpan are like new. Interior is stripped and painted - so all that remains is the front carpets, door cards, and dash. It has a few niggles to sort out - most of little electrical niggles which I can put up with.
These cars are getting more and more expensive to buy now as people in the UK are catching on to Drifting etc - and the AE86 is really part of the history of drifting along with the Initial D cartoon (although that car was a sprinter trueno - the popup light version).
Go take a look on Yahoo Auctions Japan - I saw a few of these go for £14K (3000000 yen) last week

Nice car, had a Levin GT Apex myself but it was the AE101 version.
Not as good as the AE86 though, mental cars.
Still put out 160bhp from a 1.6 20v with 4 throttle bodies and VVT upto 9000rpm.
Prob why it went bang,lol.

Nearly...
Hachi Roku.
Hmmm...
I know why my number plate lights ain't workin - both bulbs blown.
I know why my side lights and side repeaters ain't working - they ain't connected and the +ive line has been removed from the spay connector and taped up. Hope this isn't the start of a bigger electrical gremlin than I thought.
