Default My Syncronised drift with an EVO 4

I went to a trackday at Castle Combe on monday, and at one point I was having an epic battle with my mates 360bhp EVO 4, there was nothing in it all round the track, I was slightly quicker through the bends and I was out-braking him, and he was slightly quicker on the straights. Anyway at the end of this epic battle we were both flat-out coming towards camp corner, him infront and me about a car length behind and we both turned in and got massive drifts around the corner, it was amazing and it looked like we were doing a syncronised drift. Another mate caught it on video and it looks utterly fantastic, I'll put the vid up as soon as he's finished editing/uploading, but here's a pic of the moment for now:

Your mates line looks a tad wide! He is well over on to the dirty part of the track!

Did you do that every time, or was it a grip the wheel tight moment

Yeah, a split second later he was on the grass and I was past up the inside To be fair he was on the correct line to begin with, but that's where he drifted to...

I did it a few more times when it rained later on, but not like that again. It wasn't fully intended, I wanted to put it into a bit of a slide but it ended up being a tad bigger than I expected I controlled it nicely though, even if I do say so myself

My passenger needed a change of pants though

Looks good!!! ... But
Careful, Tony (T5NYW) was "just putting a bit of slide on" when it slid a bit more

you'd be surprised how much you can gain on the straights by running with the front windows up and the rear ones down a bit. Most trackdays I've been on they make sure the windows are up to 3/4 to stop wee stones flying in!

even having the antenna up at 100mph has a 2% loss of speed!!!

i was doing that at silverstones ford fair two weeks ago

Just do a scandinavian flick as you go into a corner and hold on, trashes yer tyres though

I even managed to hold a power slide at 80 mph at Copse, best bit was it was in front of a massive crowd as well

Great Pic though
Hardly any difference in performance, his car has a Norris Designs 360bhp conversion, but it's weighd down with loads of ICE, and he's on standard brakes.

My car is running around 340bhp and I have Prodrive suspension and Whitleline Anti-lift kit, Solid drop-links and Adjustible ARB, Cusco strut brace, and Powerststion Bumpsteer mod, aswell as Brembo 4-pots with 320mm discs. As I said I was quicker through the corners and I was outbraking him, he was margianally quicker in the straights. I got ahead of him moments after we came out of that bend, and ended up pulling a few car lengths away from him before the end of the session.

OK, here is the video. It's right at the end of the vid, the rest of which is footage of me on the track. You'll notice on the first session I still have my loud exhaust on, I was told I had to quieten it down if I wanted to go back on the track, hence the reason I fitted my standard backbox.

Look out for the red S13sx attached to my **** end, I later found out that it is running nearly 400bhp, is stripped out and has fully track orientated suspension, no wonder I couldn't shake him......

Anyway, here's the vid:

My car was sound tested before hand and I got 99.6db, but that wasn't at 4500rpm (no-one was watching thr rev-counter), when I came off my first session they tested me with someone watching the rev counter so I had to take it to 4.5k, it got 103.5db

At the Castle Combe action day I got 108db with exactly the same exhaust, so it depends on atmospheric conditions to some degree.

If you still have your standard backbox take it with you, it only takes 5 minutes to change them over if you fail.
