Cheers Ed.
Andy, I used a chap local to me who came highly reccomended he's not mobile if you need a number for body work I can supply it. The wheels - don't quote me on this I think they are a 53mm offset rather than the 50mm offset, there seem's to be more space between wheel and brake caliper now than before.
Hope that helps
Rgds, Bryan

A few questions, hope you don't mind:
Who did you use to remove the stone chips?
How did you get away with fitting MY01 wheels? I thought the offset was wrong for the old shape car.
Very nice car, and congrats also on the smallest number plate I've ever seen
Andy.

That looks sharp! From what I read the stock 01Rex rims are 16x6.5 and ET55. The offset is not identical to the ET53 on the 16x7 OEM rims but that's because they need to be pulled in closer to the suspension.

Bryan - The car looks very, very sharp with the MY01 wheels on it. Good choice!
Phil - I'd be happy to take your MY01 wheels off your hands, assuming they're in good shape. Please email me (thepno95@earthlink.net) and we can try to work something out.
Thanks,
Pat Olsen

Looks good Bryan!
When I get round to getting your old wheels refurbished I'll stick a photo or two in the Green Scooby Corner thread.
May be a while though as the money for the refurb is going on a second-hand full Scoobysport exhaust system this weekend!
Cheers,
Steve (with a hole where his wallet used to be!)

Bryan,
I was looking at shrinking my number plate a bit, but bl&#?y hell, that's small!!
How did you get away with that?
I'm assuming that there are no hard and fast rules for reducing the plate size (i.e. it's completely illegal!) but you should should just smile and feign complete ignorance?
What should I expect anyway...a slap on the wrist? Severe beating with that metal truncheon thing...or an appointment with the beak?
Beautifully clean.. nice one..

Thanks for the comments guy's
Spider, can't wait to see the wheels refurbed have you made your mind up what color they are going to be?
Col, I will get round to seeing you I've been running around a lot for my sister wedding.
Pete, any luck with the wheel hunt? It's my first night back after a week off, I'll mail you later.
Al, Got stopped the other day first time in 3 months. As from the 1/1/01 it is illegal to change the front plate size due to the new traffic congestion act, as this now takes pictures of the front of the car. This is a fixed penalty and 3 point so I was informed by the very nice Mr Policeman that stopped me, ALWAYS CARRY your other plate and the fixings coz if you can rectify the problem there and then you might just get away with it

I believe that the original tyres for MY01 are 215/45/17. Have you ever had 215/45/17 on the car, or did you just buy the wheels (either without tyres or with very worn tyres). I guessed that 215/40/17 would be OK as that is one of the recommended tyre sizes (other being 205/45/17). However most of the MY01 wheels for sale in the private forum tend to be with fairly new tyres, so I want to find out if fairly new 215/45/17 (eg 6mm tread left) tyres on MY01 wheels, would fit an MY98 with standard suspension

The rolling circumferance would be wrong if you use the new set up on the old model and would probably rub the arches with a full load. As I never put the wheels with that size tyre on the car I don't know.
