Where did you get the mesh from?

how is the grill mesh actually fitted (got any photos? of fitting?)

I'm considering a morette quad lamp conversion, which would mean a gap between light and grill, so a custom grill would be good, and mesh one would be nice, so I'm interesting in how you fitted yours.

I've already got some square mesh from homebase, which I'm going to fit under the scoops (cos I've got a set like you, not that I'm copying you ) so I might use the left over to make up a grill.

I dispensed with the grille entirely for max airflow. I love it, some people do, others hate it. More people move over for me now!

The mesh was from B&Q. Simply made a carboard template which I trimmed to fit and then cut the mesh to the same shape.

The mesh is held in place by two brackets that I fabricated and some cable ties that fasten it to the old grille mounts (use black and you can't see them). The brackets were two pieces of plastic about 12cm long, 1cm wide and 1cm high with a hole drilled in each end.

I placed them behind the mesh and screwed them down so that they clamp the mesh up to the front bumper. It's fairly easy to work out once you get the grille off. The hardest bit is cutting the mesh (cut my hands to shreds). You also have to cut a piece out for the bonnet release catch to fit through.

I also used the leftovers to make an intercooler protector.

The lower mesh is tonnes easier to fit, it just cable ties round your existing plastic slats.

Just make sure you get the anodised or galvanised aluminium stuff as the steel mesh starts to rust after a bit of rain.

I have recently meshed the front of the MR2 and it looks superb - the only colour of aluminium mesh I could get at B&Q was gold, but luckily I had some silver spray lying around - really happy with it, and it stops my rad holing again (£300 )
