Very NICE!!
Do you have any prob`s with the 18`s catching the arches, having lowered springs etc.
All local scoobs I`ve noticed locally running 18`s have the standard ride height and sometimes look ODD!?
Is the `R` an official import in NZ?
Over here as you are aware all the `R`s are grey import and subaru uk won`t touch e`m.
Keep up the polishing!

Thanks for the Comments guys,

Wayne...No the HKS springs have a really high rating, so no worries about the wheels. Only rubs occasionally if there are 2 people in the back to weigh the back down.
And Type R was an official import to NZ through Subaru New Zealand. 3 year factory warranty.....
Any other comments are welcome....

cheers again

I think we're all still stunned (and wondering why we couldn't get a Type R as an official UK car )

Cool

You guy's are just confused by the fact that it is SUNNY in Kiwi land!!

You know...its that wan pale thing that appears a couple of days a year here in the UK.

(Not that I'm bitter and pissed off because its effing January outside and Summers a long way off..... )

HOW DO YOU FIND THE GEAR RATIOS?
I`VE CONVERTED MY RA TO RUN THE NORMAL RATIO BOX OF THE STANDARD MODEL.
I THOUGHT THE RA AND Rs BOX WERE JUST TOO SHORT FOR EVERYDAY USE.
I`VE NOW GOT THE CLOSED DECK BLOCK OF THE R AND RA + THE HIGHWAY FRIENDLY GEARING OF THE USUAL MODEL!!!

Gear ratios arent to bad, a lot of winding roads here in NZ also, so good for squirting between corners. And not overally bad on Motorways, sits on about 4000rpm when doing 135 kph....

Will remember to wax the car next time, as stated the sun makes it look a lot shinier, it was actually dirtier than usual....

Thanks Guys...

That really does look very nice !

So who makes Gemmut wheels ? or are they the manufacturers ?

Did you not have to modify the arches at all to get them to fit ?

The wheels fit no worries, just had to space the front wheels out 3mm to clear the 4 pot calipers. The car has lowered springs with a very firm rating which stops any body roll onto the wheels. Never rubs the guards.
Ride is quite firm but if you want comfort buy an M3.!!!
Gemmut are Japanese wheels, there are only 5 sets of these wheels in NZ I have been told. And they are not made any more....I have had them resprayed once to ensure they look good.
As for polishing, I use a product called " Fireglaze" which is recommended by panelbeaters. Not sure if its available over your way....

Thanks Guys
