Talking

Many people took their Scoobies to the Rallyday event for the track time - looked fun!

That's not to say that there weren't loads more just hanging around the car park. Excellent turnout!

Mmm... nice blue indicators!

The new STI with the latest Prodrive wheels - probably the winner of Andy's "car I'd most like to drive home in" competition.

A tasteful set of front-end mods, proving that the bug-eye doesn't have to be ugly:

Nice to see some Scoobynet readers amongst the crowd:

The turnout really was very good...

...indeed!

Some interesting cars (no, this isn't the one from Trax last year - there's another one!)

Mmm... 22B...

Lots of P1's, given the total number that were ever made:

...complete with guard dog!

Scooby himself set some of the fastest times of the day in his black STI...

...before posing for photos

"Have you been drinking, sir?"

Russ Swift was on top form:

"What, you think Colin's a better driver than me, do you?"

Some of the cars on display were quite ludicrous. No doubt a rally fan older than myself will explain just how successful this car was, blah, blah... but to me it's a Metro in a cornflake packet bodykit!

Others were more conventional - there was quite a selection:

"Illegal street racing, officer? No, no idea, sorry. Oh, you want to join in?! Straight ahead..."

The enemy were there in force too...

...brandishing their elaborate body kits...

...but stopping for fuel every 5 minutes as usual!

The strain of getting to the circuit was too much for some!

Fly tipping is such a problem. You leave out a perfectly good, empty bin, and people insist on parking their rubbish on the ground next to it...

Motor racing - the environmental sport.

Power Engineering brought along their rather tarty STI:

...sporting a pair of TSL's finest:

Winner of the 'pointlessly clean engine bay' award goes to this car. I've eaten my dinner off grubbier things than that battery cover...

"Build quality? What's that then?

Who needs Photoshop to obscure number plates?

Cool

Hope scooby didn't try and have a go at you when taking that pic cos he has a tendency to think people are trying to steal his cap when they get too close to him!!He has calmed down a bit now I've got him back home and some food in him.Nice pic's mate.Cheers Martin.

Andy I think I saw you taking the pics of the 22b. I was one of the many wearing the scoob t-shirt. Was that you with long hair and a big camera?

Paul: yes, it was me with the long hair, Subaru T-shirt, backpack and camera

What was your car? I may have a photo - there's plenty more where these came from.

Andy,

Nice pic of my purple WRX, but it was the 1 at Trax last year ( and the year before ), but not the French 1 with the nasty wide arches that was there last year.

Colin, sorry - didn't mean to offend, it's just that the other car you're referring to was quite well publicised on Scoobynet at the time, and that's the only purple car I'd seen outside Photoshop

Jon, welcome to Scoobynet! I'm sure they do flash orange - I hadn't seen them before, that's all. Given that I spend most of my sad, wasted life staring at stuff on this bbs, things I haven't already seen are quite rare

Andy.

Stuart you can get those big Scooby's at Gatwick Airport in the Warner Bros shop. I saw them there in June when I was off on holiday. Nearly bought 1 until the girlfriend reminded me I would have to take it on the plane with me.

Andy could you mail me a pic of my purple 1 as I only took a pic of mine with my normal camera, forgot with the digital camera.

Cheers Colin.

Phill, sorry - I don't have one. If you're really keen, I know there was a company taking professional shots of everyone - they might still have yours and you might be able to track them down.

No pics of my car this time - I only decided to go at the last minute, so I didn't get to park with the other scoobs.

I did get a shot of the car parked next to me, though - a green Peugeot 206 - the owner of which is an arrogant and careless **** who slammed his door into mine and then had the audacity to (believe it or not) blame the marshals for telling him to park too close! At that point it was either walk away or beat him to a pulp, so I left. He can thank the group holding a bbq in the car park when I got back for not having a battered door today.

Andy.
