Default Sti6 Type-R Limited

So had my Type-R for just over a month and unfortunately not much done in that time..

Have been looking to replace the wider front wings with stock ones in the same colour but cant find any as yet.

I have however replaced the mirrors to standard ones. THe boost gauge was not working as the sensor for the DEFI boost gauge was missing so have temporarily had another boost gauge fitted until I can source the sensor.

Finally had it mapped by Andrew Carr yesterday and first time I got in to some boost and have to admit I like the VF36 twinscroll spool up and it pulls well upto 7k rpm. I'm not into chasing numbers but just want a reliable fast road car thats driveable.

Andrew did mention it had uprated injectors fitted and my guy in Japan said it had an engine overhaul with uprated cams / pistons but difficult to confirm. It does however have a Zero Sports turbo back pipe and various other mods. Was fitted with a Nissan MAF but has been mapped to run mafless.

I think I will be looking for a Front Mount Intercooler to help with colling as I reckon the stock STi TMIC could be improved on..??

Also loking to get it on the rollers to see what power it is making and just try get the best out of it on the spec as it came from Japan.

More updates to follow as and when

I'm pretty sure you could squeeze a Newage STi intercooler in there, may have to make or mod the brackets to mount it though

Roof scoop off, plus I'd have to sort out the asymmetric nature of the front end, ie. fog covers and duct holes. And the positioning of the STi badge on the rear looks odd. Other than that, looks great!

Rear badge has been removed 😄 keeping an eye out for stock front wings / bumper and once I fit them then the roof scoop will be binned aswell..!
Although if someone knows where I can get the fog covers that fit this bumper then I wouldn't mind replacing them and getting rid of the ducts.

Cheers all

4th item down:

Or, if you MUST have OEM (deep breath)...

The only positive being, they're probably in the correct Sonic Blue and also have the relevant STi decals. So, fit and forget. Mind, at 660 quid, that's the VERY LEAST you'd want!

Just remember, at that price, they'll be patterns. So don't expect the last word in quality/perfect fitment i.e. expect some irregular gaps (albeit probably not noticeable from a distance).
