I collected my new Impreza this weekend, a rather nice WRX STi5 Type RA V-Limited and booked Mark, the Wizard of wax, to give the car the full once over.
Here is a pictorial story of mark at work and the rather tasty results.

What do you think? I love it.

Cool

Hehe, good to see you guys met up

Once Mark gets going there is nothing to stop him, not even his favorite drink ! But he hates Volvo's, don't ask me why

Still use his products after 3 years (from the first batch), so if you ever think it's expensive, think again. I have enough left for the coming 3 years as well BTW ... !

JF, you know we expect a full write up on how you think the car behaves, don't you ? You are familiar with much faster cars, and with it's little brother as well. Do tell us if you are happy with this car.

It does look smashing BTW

Sure will Theo!

Give me a week to get my head round it, i am at the ring next weekend in the car so by the end of that, i'll know how it handles i would think.

Chuffed to bits with it so far, 4th gear acceleration is amazing.

Boy do I feel bad!!

Looking at the difference it makes me look a right slob, the engine bay looks clean enough to eat out of (fried eggs a la turbo anyone?).

She's come up cracking John, Mark is clearly lacking beard and flowing robes, but is obviously a wizard!

Where abouts will you post how you get on at the 'ring?

Gordon

Looks stunning now doesn't it Gordon! The most important thing to me was the way you looked after the car mechanically, in that respect it was perfect. The trim was also very nice, it just needed a bit of a session with mark to bring out the true beauty of the car.

The garage roof bodge was a cracker, one of the panels has a couple of splits in it and was dripping in, a quick attack of the duct tape sorted that out!

Just a couple of jobs left to do and it will be mint.

I'll post my Ring exploits in the General Forum.

John,

That is bloody brilliant. Outstatanding! What can I say.

Excellent photos John!

Thank you very much, for fulfilling my requests, with the pics of the angles, badges etc. Much appreciated. I have saved the lot. Can't stop looking at them.

And what a magic job Mark has done. Mark you must come to Greece m8! for my car. I must say that I use the Wax Wizard products on my car also and it comes out just like that too. It's the same colour as well. Mark however, will give it that better finish and the main thing is to learn off him. The pics have given me a few tips on the way the, I think it's the, cleanse is applied. Great pics John.

What type of rags are those hanging off the mirrors that Mark has put there John?

Also what is Mark spraying on the roof?

Great car John! The ultimate scoob IMHO! It's a beauty! Look after it and ENJOY!

Cheers,

Wrexy.

Wow how clean is that car.

Thats a great idea sticking those bits of tissue in the mirrors and near the lights to stop the drips.

Get in touch with Mark, the wax wizard, it's all his stuff. Mark used his own solvents etc, made from things like citrus fruits, to get through all the crud. The wheels took 3 attempts, they were pretty well caked. The engine bay was cleaned and then he used a dressing finish to make all the colours stand out, plus all the rubber like new. It's impresive to watch.

Mark started at 9am and finished at 6pm, a very thorough job!

Nicko, send Chrystal round so we can get some shots that will really make people jelous. Congrats to her on the Chanel 4 model competition too! Chuffed for her!

V nice John

Should have done the tyres and inner arches as well though...

And I thought you weren't supposed to apply the wax in swirls

he didnt D, that was the paint cleanse stage when he applied the cleans prior to rubbing it down in straight lines. There are NO swirls in the paint anywhere.

I absolutely HATE shiny sidewalls to tyres, they look cheep and nasty, i am glad he didnt do them.

Diablo....it does not matter which way I apply cleanse or wax!!!! As I do not use solvents, abrasives or silicones it matters not.
