I can't believe how well that New Age bumper looks on that Classic. Looks perfect.

Did its width have to be altered by cutting & shutting to suit, or is it that perfect out of the box, so to speak?

I bet!

Gorgeous though - my 'lottery win go-to purchase'.

I remember when Prodrive unveiled the MY97 WRC car...... I almost had a coronary lol

Hi Ian would you give us an idea as to a rough breakdown of the running costs of say a weekend tarmac rally?

Everything is lifed by mileage , taking everthing into account , it works out at about £50 a mile to run it , and the average rally is about 100 miles .
So about £5k per rally !!
Engine needs a rebuild between 750 and 1000 miles , gearbox strip and check every 500 , new clutch shim every 200 .
They take a lot of looking after

Ian, if you were to run one as an (ultimate!) 'posing machine' road car (with just the usual, infrequent fast road blasts), then what do you reckon, roughly, how long each of your listed servicing items would last?

I would have thought the gearbox and diffs would go a lot longer , 7k revs side stepping the clutch on every start line puts a lot of strain on the running gear , never once has it broke anything off the start line , its very strong compered to a standard car , the engine would also last longer , how long who knows , with 11-1 compression ratio and up to 2 bar of boost is never going to do 20k miles lol.
The clutch shim would probably last less between changes , it,s the starts and moving the car about wears the carbon plates , as once moving you don't use the clutch up the box , only down.
Race Fuel is just under £4 a litre , on the stages i would only get a mile a litre , on the road about 3

Cheers.

Of course, that's only the half of it... As when things do eventually wear/fail, then you're in a whole new dimension of financial pain re. replacing the (relative to OEM) rare, exotic hardware!

Did you source a lot of parts through WRC Spares?
