Fitted my new wheels. Impreza sti - rota grid drift.
So I managed to fit my new wheels the other night as well as giving the engine bay a nice clean up. Wheels are 18x9.5 et38 wrapped in 235/40/18 goodyear eagle f1 asymmetric 2's
Seal them with what? I've cleaned them 3 times so far in one week, absolute nightmare to keep clean.
Lol. I have more white spokes than you and it takes me maybe 10mins to do all 4 wheels.
Worth it for white wheels imo.
Halfords do a mop/sponge on a stick...makes cleaning alloys much easier.
The brake dust comes right off...no need for brake dust remover or a coating.

I detail cars semi professionally so know what I am talking about, brake dust will eventually get under the paint of any wheel if not protected properly, and over time you will notice areas on the alloy that start to get harder to clean as the metal particles find there way under the paint, that's why you should seal wheels,as it will keep them looking cleaner for longer and make them easier to clean with just a normal car shampoo and without the need for a strong acid based wheel cleaner.SJ.

Learn something new everyday.
I think my issue here is I assumed new alloys came protected.
After 10 months if the dirt on my alloys even sniffs normal soap it does a runner. Just glides off.
I will however do a little research into the product in your link. Do tyres need to come off when applying?

No mate the tires don't need removing. Here is a quick vid of the application process:
How do you find the handling with these fitted? And I presume there is some stretch? I have the same but 225/40/18s and it handles terrible!
Yeah there is quite a bit of stretch. I haven't pushed it in any corners yet but it certainly feels more grippy round roundabouts :-P. Car defiantly requires a bit more effort to move from a stand still now too. Will check back with you once i've had a chance to drive it more, stuck offshore until next Monday now.
