My new 2007 Hawkeye
Picked up my new 2007 Hawkeye yesterday:
Lovely 200miles drive back from Portsmouth - the clogged up motorways were a blessing in disguise as they forced me to take her round the open country roads (even if journey time was doubled) - the missus thinks I was mental sourcing the car from such a distance but I think it has been totally worth it.
First job completed this morning - replace standard boot lid tensioners with stronger Sti tensioners so as not to trap the kids fingers and have the boot open from the lever correctly.
Next job is to replace the bulbs behind the dashboard - only discovered last night that some of the clocks are dull in places in the dark (guess I overlooked that when viewing the vehicle in the daylight ). Any suggestions on improving the dashboard lighting and the associated parts needed would be much appreciated (have seen a few vids on youtube).
Also need to get a spare key cut as it came with only one key. Again, any suggestions on the best place to get one made will be greatly received - I'm thinking I'll need the services of an auto-locksmith as the key is the immobilizer transponder type and I'm a bit wary of places like Timpsons who might end up producing a key that doesn't work and in turn end up immobilizing my car permanently. Don't fancy paying Subaru dealer prices ...
