Default New old member. Blobeye Wagon

Hi All,

I was a member on here a while back when i had my green classic wagon. Went through a few cars since then and the last jap car i had was my R32 Skyline. After selling My diesel Mondeo i was looking for a scooby again. My brother had a blob eye a couple of years back and i always loved the look of it so decided i want one. I wanted a standard as possible one and i found this one.
2004 .. good service history. 128k on the clock but had a full rebuild at Subaru at 80k costing the previous owner a hefty sum.
Picked up a backbox and midpipe for it for £30 so have no midbox now and i hollowed out the cat under the car.. got that nice rumble to it now. Dropped the oil as well with a new filter so its running much better... spark plugs are next on the list. Ordered a New filter, new headlights/sidelights/interior lights to get that ice white look.
Saw black headlights all over the net and hated the orange in mine so set about doing that yesterday... quite pleased with the results and only took about 2 hours ... mainly waiting for the paint to dry :-) looking for coilovers and some alloys next.. id like some XXR's :-) then STI bumper and wings hopefully and possibly a full respray in white.
Couple of pics below.. but a few questions if i may

Best spark plugs to buy for it?

Do coilovers off a Saloon fit my Wagon.. if so what years are the bugs the same?

Got a HKS SSQV on order.. are they ok with dump valves or do they throw a wobbly?

Thanks
Andy

Welcome! I'm reasonably new to Impreza ownership. I've been running an '05 WRX Wagon for a couple of months, and absolutely loving it!

This forum can be a little quiet at times - I guess most questions have already been answered.

...just noticed you're based in Rugby, too! I live in New Bilton.

NKG PR6B plugs should be fine for standard car.

If that's an atmospheric dump valve then the it may upset the car a bit (metered air disappearing from the system) - most guys on here seem to hate them!

Welcome back.
Agree with the ngk6's for the plugs. HKS dv's are normally ok as long as they are genuine but I would still resist fitting until remap or health check from specialist. Considering the exhaust mods etc id recommend an open source remap. More power, better economy and a health check for very reasonable money. Tdr in warwick do it, speak to mark I'm sure he'll sort you out.
And I'm only 5 mins from rugby too :-)

Yeah the his doesn't even seem to fit as it fouls the inlet slightly... might just say lost cause and sell it ha. Seems I've found the sparks to go for then... How hard are they to change... I'm pretty handy.. does much need removing? Sorry if I'm trapping.old ground.. :-).
