My Bugeye
Hi, I've not posted pics here for a while and really need to update my project thread again!! I know it wont be to everyones taste, but I'm pleased how its going. its fresh from paint, but threw a bearing when being re-mapped, so engine heading off for a re-build (spec still to be decided) and fmic on way. I hope most of you like it.

I'm not 100% sure at the moment mate. The engine will come out and go up to Engine Tuner. So we'll get a variety of quotes for a standard rebuild up to a fully forged cdb 2.1. And points in between, then see how finances are going. Ideally I'd like to 'future proof' as much as I can and maybe if poss a 2.1 with forged pistons. But wait and see at the moment.

Why go with a 2.1cdb? Is your standard block CDB?
Mine is running on an ODB and has done over 20k miles like this, so that would save some expense, I would definitely get a 2.1 built though!

I had a similar brief when Martyn built my engine, slightly over engineered daily driver with over 400. In the end went with forged cdb, 2.1 mated to sc46. and 6 speed. Works very well together. Good luck with the build.

Wellif you are going for 400 then there is really no need for a CDB, even future proofed your ODB would be okay, like I say mine has ran over 500hp for 5yrs and 20k miles and apart from a shim that failed then it is really reliable.
You will want as smaller turbo as possible, with a billet wheel and some cams an dhead work then to make the best of it!

I had just fitted a aeg billet td05 20g which was looking good until the bearing went, again, I think cam and head work will need to come later, the outside restoration/paint etc, now the engine will be stretching finances as is
