Default ECU Error and CEL light

My CEL light came on a few times today so i have researched a bit on here how to read codes etc..

I have connected the black connectors and read the codes and this is what i have got:

22 Knock sensor
33 Vehicle speed sensor 2

So does this mean the sensors have a problem? On the knock sensor does it mean the knock sensor is being actiavted or not working?

I assume these could be an old error?

Cheers

Dave

I would suggest you locate and possibly visually check / clean them and put them back. If you clear the ECU fault memory ( either disconnect the battery overnight ) There is another way which is a bit fiddly, you can see if they fault again.

I think the knock sensor is under the intercooler by piston 3.

Where is 33 Vehicle speed sensor 2 ?

Reset the ecu last night for the first time, worked a treat

so i then drove the car and waited for the check engine light to come on, i have then checked again and its only the Knock sensor which is erroring.

The VSS was probably when the fuel gauge was changed the other day.

So i'll clean the connectors on the knock sensor this weekend and see what happens.

Did this sort this?

My speed sensor went haywire so I replaced it and ever since when queing at idle (only when warm) I get a CEL that is for the 22/knock sensor. No amount of ECU resets gets rid of it, so was just wondering if this has cleared?

All sorted, fitted a second hand knock sensor, reset the ecu and waited!! so far so good, not a single miss, so this has solved my problem!!

Why not

rebuild is going slowly, got all the parts now, just need to put it back together.
