Wiring aftermarket fans
Ive fitted a set of aftermarket fans on my car but theres 2 wires on the but 3 on the plug for the car so wasnt sure what todo, Had a search on here and couldnt find anything found this after doing a search on google:
Fan #1 (Main Fan)
Black = Ground
WL = 12v Power
YR = 12v when the 2ndary fan is on.
Fan #2 (Secondary/AC Fan)
B = Ground
WG = 12v power
YG = (nothing)
That said, on fan #1, you "should" be find wiring YR and WL together, and B to ground.
Then, on Fan #2, only wire in WG and B
Given the way the relays are laid out, when Fan #2 relay shuts, it'll power both.
But, when Fan #1 relay shuts, it'll only power #1, because the #2 relay "could" still be open.
If both relays are closed, they'll both run.
This sound right to anyone?

Out of interest then (as I plan to do this sometime in the future too) I have removed aircon and just want both fans to come on with engine temp/water temp. Which wires would I put to positive on the new fans? And where are the fan relays located?
FMJ i have no knowledge in this kinda stuff at all i havent even got the chance to wire my own up yet to tell you what way the above works, hopefully someone else can point u in the right direction
I would reckon the fan relays are in the main fuse box? Under the bonnet.
Have a look at the old wiring, ought to be simple enough. If in doubt, use the old wiring to trigger the relays, with a direct feed from battery via an inline fuse, or fused relay.

I'm sure I will work it out. Just have the get the gearbox back in then I might give it a go.
