So for the last half hour or so I've been having this headache over what I assume is the connector for the height adjuster. I can't seem to get the thing to come off

As you might see I've been going pretty rough with it. Hasn't moved a hair though.
I know it looks awful, but any tips?

 

push a flat blade screwdriver down on the bit on the top of the connector in the bottom picture and pull this is what is holding the plug in

Still won't go though, and I have already tried this. Didn't have that confidence level in fear of breaking it before of course. Might just need a harder tug?
